In my opinion I don't think Bute will want the rematch. I think he will take a few flights to rebuild himself

Obviously the Kessler rematch would be a brilliant fight

But if for some reason the Kessler fight couldn't happen. What do people think of Froch fighting Kelly Pavlik

I think Bute will want the fight at 175lbs

I don't think Pavlik would want anything to do with Froch, not if he watched last night's fight, anyway.

Massive step down. Pavlik is done, he fought like **** last time out and his awful tattoos made him look like ****.

    Frochy would batter him.

i agree:good, he definately needs time to rebuild, the addad weight may help the resistance issue.

Agreed. Doubt that was written into the contract. Doubt he'll want it anyway.

Im pretty certain that the rematch claus only came into effect if the fight went more than 6 rounds. So we don't have to worry about the rematch

I'm not saying Pavlik is the best match up

I'm just saying that if it's not Kessler or Ward who else is there? After them I think Pavlik's name if the best

Butes trainer said he didn't want his fighters health affected by an immediate rematch and Lucian has to go away and rebuild himself. The trainer showed slot of common sense in his interview and said it could have been stopped sooner, may not be an elite trainer but knows his fighter and has his best interests at heart

I wouldn't mind him fighting Pavlik. Froch deserves an easy fight.

Pavlik's got a fight in a couple of weeks, he might be past it but he's still a big enough name and it'd be a good fight for Froch.

I say Kessler II, Shumenov, Cloud. All winnable fights for him. Don't like Dawson for him (although I wouldn't rule a win out for Froch there either) but Froch could come in at 170ish and beat all those guys, although the latter two would be very competitive I imagine, but so what, he loves a challenge. He isn't going to be the man at 168 whilst Ward's around, so he might as well move up IMO.

I wouldn't usually advise this but if it doesn't strip him of what makes him a fighter, the engine, how comfortable and naturally strong he is, but if he can get to 160 and fight Martinez I wouldn't put it past Froch to do the job. Thing is, he would then be the no.1 in a glamour division in one fell swoop, his career takes a mad then but against all odds Froch rises to the very top.

If he could do it comfortably, for once, I think it'd be the right thing to do. Martinez has a late rounds resurgence and some speed early but he's not as slick as he thinks he is and takes long spells off IMO.

If he can't hurt The Cobra he's toast IMO. Pavlik had some success against Martinez in the mid-rounds.
