Taking into consideration: quality of opposition, method of victory, odds going into the fight etc etc, which victory do you rank higher.

    Please explain your choice below.

Interesting Shaunster. Hhmmmmm. I guess some will depend on what, if anything Bute goes on to do.

I think for sheer shock, I'd have to pick Froch due to the brutality. Calzaghe would have done he same to Lacy had the the power though. Both were fantastic, unexpected performances.

I think Bute would have beat Lacy, he likes fighters that come to him. I think Bute is the better win because I know he will come back better and not worse also.

Froch's win is a better one.

  4. Both impressive results no doubt. But i think very few were picking Froch for this fight wheras the Lacy Calzaghe one was down the middle (slightly favouring Lacy outside the uk perhaps).
The difference on top of this is. Calzaghe won in a domination fashion. Froch was devestating.
Frochs was a bigger shock. I still think this might be a joke in fact?

It certainly was surprising. He just went out and bossed him. Just was not expecting that.

    Interesting!

I'll go with Froch's win simply because it was more unexpected to me. If Bute comes back and does better than what Lacy did after his defeat (which was nothing) then it will only compound this view.

Froch-Bute and it's not even really close. Bute was a proven champ and Lacy was a one trick pony w a good record.

outside the UK nearly EVERYONE favoured Lacy, even Roy Jones and Toney picked Lacy, type in "calzaghe lacy predictions" into google and you should get a page of a shitload of writers (bar I think one who calls it spot on) all picking Lacy by brutal KO

Lacey was a joke, he was slow as a turtle. Bute was a competent fast fighter/weak champion who could hit hard as well.

Froch moves another step closer to eclipsing Calzaghes record. He and Ward may just make it.

tbf thats only because Calzaghe had done nothing up till the Lacy and Kesler fights apart from the alleged draw with rather good Robin Reid.

Zaghe's wins over Veit, and Mitchell are not bad defences but they were both only poor champions in their prime, aside from that he did NOTHING before Kessler, his last ever fight.
