Froch has a great resume, Calzaghe's is just about average in a good light. Silly question really.

People are giving too much credit to Glen Johnson and Abraham. Even the Jermain Taylor win is not as good in reality as it is on paper.

Johnson, Taylor, Abraham lost 6 months after Froch beat them. Dirrell has done almost nothing in 3 three years.

Pascal was a nobody how had done nothing before Froch. Although it was Carl's first step on the world stage.

Let us all be honest Bute was already beaten by Andrade - knocked out in his backyard. As hardcore fans we should see this. Although Bute did do great afterwards.

As well as great aspects, Froch's run has lots of negative aspects too. It's sad that people ignore these negative aspects whilst continuing to rip Joe.

I don't have the energy to discuss this anymore. I'm done debating this, I've been doing it for too long.

Froch's greatest accomplishment is the sequence of fights, Individually many of the wins are flawed. It is the back-to-back run that makes everything so special.

Mosley, yes. Hatton, No. It was only easy because Pacquiao made it so by being too good. On paper the fight made huge sense, and Hatton had just outboxed Paulie and was still considered the best 140 lb fighter at the time. It's unfair to call it an easy fight, since one could also say that Abraham and Bute were easy fights for Froch since he dominated and won so easily.

As far as record goes, Calzaghe's just pips it, but there's not much between them now. Obviously Froch will be more loved by fans because of the quality of opposition he's faced fight after fight, but Calzaghe has those wins over Hopkins and Kessler.

Froch was beaten clearly by Kessler and then Ward. If he'd won both those fights he would have the better legacy by now. As it stands, it's close, but Joe's is better. As the last poster pointed out, Froch's greatest achievement is his sequence of fights.

Going a little too far i believe.

I think Amir Khan will eventually top Froch's resume. Khan is clearly taking on the best but gets little credit. There are plenty of big fights to come from Amir.

That's it, I'm done on all this.

For me even though Carl mentioned Joe's name and the two instantly get spoken about in light of each other there both different fighters and gone about it in a different way.

Forget who would of won, and look at what both men have done and i have more admiration for Froch who has fought prime world class fighters back to back and won more then he's lost. 3 time world champion is a unbelievable feat and he can still add to his resume. Doing it away from at home and mostly away helps.

Add a win over a Kessler, and a few other names to build some more depth. For me he's edged ahead with last nights victory.

    WTF????

His three best wins are probably Bute, Pascal and Abraham. Only one of them has ever even held a world title at the weight at which they fought. Total, total lack of perspective on this one. There are several fighters with better resumes than Froch, they just haven't compiled them over the course of 7 or 8 fights as he has. His attitude is great, he's very likeable, but there's some major league bull**** coming out on this thread.

I'm not even sure Calzaghe would have beaten Froch. Froch has the chin and resilience to go the distance and the power to hurt Joe. It could have even been a bit like the Bute fight because Calzaghe liked to stand and trade sometimes and was dropped by salem, mitchell, hopkins and roy. I would say Froch hits just as hard as those guys.

Calzaghe would have beaten him pretty clearly IMO.

It's all about opinions. Very few thought Froch would have beaten Bute like that. Calzaghe had hard fights with lesser fighters than Froch.
