I agree with bigReg here.. Andre beats 3 of the devision biggest punchers , Carl Froch , Mikkel Kessler and Arthur Abraham .. Then Miranda, Bika and Green, end between those fights. Where is Bute leverage here? He didn't take part in the super 6 and he fought some pretty soft comp while the super 6 was taking place.
To me this leave no question about who is truly the man at 168. At this stage of Andre's Career Bute is not even a blip on the radar.

I just want to congratulate Ward on his beat down of Bute last night. What a Champ!

Usually the trinagle theories are quite ******ed.

But the way Bute was completely man-handled and beaten to a pulp in there suggests that any fighter with the toughness and skill to out-brawl, out-muscle, and out-dirty a fighter like Froch would have no problem with a fighter who was on rollerskates the whole night before being put out of his misery in the 5th Round.

Styles make fights, don't think ward would have got Bute out of there any faster than froch! ward let froch do his dirty work, automatically becomes the undisputed smw without fighting the main challenger at the time (Bute).

    Let's try it this way;

    Ward is American
    Dawson is American
America = the biggest TV market in the world
Ward vs Dawson is a bigger fight in America than Ward vs. Bute
Dawson is a tougher fight for Ward than would be the case against Bute
Beating Dawson would enhance Ward's legacy moreso than a win over Bute

And people are right, styles make fights. Just because Froch beat Bute doesn't neccesarily mean that Ward would. However, stylistically, Dawson and Bute have some similarities. Outside of power though, I would argue that Dawson is superior to Bute in every way. Ward is fighting a younger, bigger, more talented version of Bute who has actually beaten some real fighters.

In one respect though, Ward should be kicking himself. Bute would've been an easier fight for him than Dawson. I just don't see the sense though in knocking a man for taking on the tougher challenge.

Are we actually pretending Ward didn't fancy the Bute fight.

I was referring to those claiming Ward was in the right to say this about Bute.

    I agree with you.

I don't know if Dawson is willing to fight at 168, Dawson's team doesn't like it. The fight hasn't been signed yet.

that is very doubtful . ward is a young kid. he does not need a physical break. he would be better off fighting all the hards fights now. i totally dis agree with this.

Are you ******ed or what of course bute can take a punch? He took a serious beating for 3 rounds before being stopped. Boxing is nog about using your face as defence it's about to hit and not get hit..

And I dare to say If Froch landed THAT many punches on nearly anyones chin they would have gone down.

Froch's stock going up means Ward's stock goes up as well (slightly).

I agree Ward passed up the chance to make a big payday by making a fight between him & Bute. It's a fight he would have dominated in most likely and would have got him huge exposure.

It had the potential to be a star making match up for Ward (outside of harcore boxing fans).

It's a case of trying to build hype up for an event which goes wrong. A bit like the Gamboa vs Juanma fight that never was.

True but it also means Ward has missed out on a good payday by not fighting Bute when it was the biggest fight that could be made at 168.

Styles make fights! I believe Ward would beat Bute, but I'm not sure he'd do it as easily as Froch - for one thing, he doesn't have the power to make the romanian fold.

so Ward should have fought Froch because he could beat him easy? Ward is about facing the best fighters :deal
