Bute is not as strong as I thought. He got brutally dominated like I would never thought. Yesterday, Bute had nothing to do in the same ring than Froch. Froch had his gameplan: to let Bute hit first and to be the one counter punching. Bute was hurt before being able to adapt and was badly hurt many times. I don't know what his career will look from now but I know I was proud of his reaction when he lost. It was real sportsmanship and I'll try to act the same way.

Props to Froch. He was awesome, Bute showed on his part that he had major flaws and how to exploit them. The blueprint is there for any boxer able to do copy-paste.

    It is boxing.

I don't care if I look stupid because the result of the fight hurts much more than any joke anybody could make on me. I didn't sleep last night. I was seeing the fight over and over. That fight was very hard to watch for a Bute fan. I guess that's called a reality check.

I feel very sad and probably won't come on the forum for a couple of days. I'll come back though.

    Again, props to Froch.

Bute was a gent after the fight and I think he still can go on to do something more in the divison. Froch & Kessler both lost and came back to score big wins, why not Bute?

Chin up, Laffie. It was a crushing defeat, but credit to you for accepting it like a proper boxing fan should. The Bute fans in the aftermath have been quite class, to be fair. :good

This is boxing, when the best fight the best someone has to lose and if you fight the best consistently, chances are you will lose at some point.

There's no shame in Bute losing, at least he had the balls to come to Nottingham with his title. Credit to Bute for being a class act in defeat, and his fans have shown the same class.

It's been a rough night Laf, but there is always calm before and after the storm. Feel better, Bute went out like a champion and is still conducting himself as one.

    I really understand you.

I dream of the fight during the night. During the fight I was like, "keep breathing or you'll forget too", I was so in shock and I'm still am.

But I felt, like you and samurai, that I should go on ESB and showed what we are about. Hope to see you in here again.

edit:I forgot, you were watching the fight with your son... must have been a hard night

I was pretty sure Bute would win by UD as well. Really didn't expect this one, Froch just completely dominated him from start to brutal finish. Props to him for an outstanding performance.

Froch and Kessler were not battered from pillar-to-post in their losses - unlike Bute - who was totally out of his depth and received as comprehensive a beating I have seen a supposedly elite-level fighter take in some time.

I think Bute will really struggle to erase this stain from his resume. It will definitely dent his confidence - maybe irrevocably - and he will now probably struggle to fill those 20,000 capacity arenas.

Think pretty much the general sentiment is that Team Bute and his fans have been a credit, shame about the devastating loss but it's history now. Boxing was given a shot-in-the-arm with this fight.

I think there's the potential that Bute would be stronger at Pascal's weight, and a fight with Jean would be epic and lift Canadian Boxing further.

    Onwards an upwards laffie. :good

Mosley was battered all over and lost his 0 against Forrest. Corrales to Mayweather. It happens, and fighters do come back.

Good post Laffie, I'm from the UK, not a big froch fan but like to see the Brits do good and that was hard to watch in the end, Bute seems like a really nice guy and extremely dignified and sporting reaction to his crushing defeat, he's a true gent a credit to the sport and to your country, I hope he can come again but after a defeat like that most fighters are never the same again
