This jumped out at me in the post fight interview with The Cracken, can anyone enlighten me as to any problems Carl had going into that fight?

Could it be a different story if they fought in Nottingham :think

    Andre Ward was the problem.

He said in individual interview with Kugan that he felt bored in New York. Two times in a year he spent weeks bored out there. Said he lost the want/drive.

For me you can see he looked a lot sharper and quicker but Ward is a different kettle of fish. Remember Froch said after fight 'didn't know he was that good on inside'. As much as i think Carl would be better against Ward in a rematch. Ward still would win.

    This.

Though I am firmly of the belief that Carl could put on a better showing.

  5. I dont know about any of the problems he was referring to but I sense that half the problem was Carl had no respect for Wards power. He constantly said that he had none. (Which I think was wrong). Which meant he was constntly trying to walk through Wards punches to land his own. saying this I don't think the outcome would be any different if they fought again. Its not a fight i'd want to see, or Dirrell.. They're just so boring to watch. Dirrell especially.

    Agreed.

Carl is my favourite fighter but Ward beats him again and is a future P4P #1 IMO. That said, he'd put on a better showing in Nottingham and probably lose a 116-112 type of decision IMO.

Whatever, Froch lost to the better man. I think he would put in a very difference performance in a rematch but I do not know if it would be enough to beat Ward.

I would genuinely love to see a re-match, preferrably in the U.K.

Froch would improve on his last showing, no doubts about it.

  9. He only lost 115 - 113 x2 last time.... So if he did better...

lol.. Just kiddin. I know where you're coming from. I agree. I don't know if carl underestimated him. It seems the more carl respects an opponents power the better he boxes. Abraham he was wary of and boxed out of his skin. The same with Bute..

I agree Froch could do better, but only so much better Ward would beat Froch time and time again.

    Agreed on him improving mate.

I'd prefer a Kessler rematch Pers, That would be great for everyone. It was a classic battle and Froch will fancy he can end Kessler's career at top level. Sky would love it and it would sell out and casuals would tune in.

Ward isn't a personality and his style isn't great from a casuals POV. I'd love to see Carl beat Ward. I was a big Ward fan but lost time for him over last 18 months. Froch can beat Kessler and September would be a great time to have it.

Would be no different second time round.

Froch had the ability to walk through Ward then but Ward was too sharp. And would be again, terrible matchup for Carl.

I think Ward's recognition and popularity would sky-rocket if he did fight Froch in the U.K.

His problem like many others is they seem content to out box and school fighters for 12 rounds. There seems no real desire to get the job done and towards end he was tiring. I think he's sorta guy who won't fight anyone twice and will not step foot out of U.S to fight.

    Shame really, class fighter.
