It was good fun in the build up for this one, I believe Bute will come again for the big fights but whether he wins or not is obviously questionable, he seems intelligent enough to spot his flaws and fix them. A rematch is unnecessary but I've seen people say he should retire, which is ridiculous. His trainer is cute too, like the Canadian Adam Booth.

I was expecting a ton of butt hurtedness from our Bute fans but they have been class.

Goes to show that the PAC FANS are still the worst fans in boxing, with all of the excuses they make for the fighter when he gives a bad performance

that's boxing, you lose some and win some, Bute will come back stronger and will regain a title

Oh I don't think Bute fans were ever in danger of stealing that crown, regardless of how bad it got.

I've been following boxing for at least 20 years now and I saw all of the Bute fights from the moment he landed in Montreal in 2003. I saw the progress and the potential develop as fights passed. I always liked his style and overall skills. The guy is as genuine of a human being as they come.

For all those reasons, it was not only a shock to see him defeated that way but it was mostly quite sad to see such a great gentleman get such a dramatic result. He deserved better as an athlete and a human being.

I know in sports, guys easily go from heroes to zeroes or vice versa.

When it's all said and done, you see the true inner strength of a man when he's at his lowest. The follow-up to this fiasco will tell everything we need to know about Bute as a fighter. As a man, he's already amongst the best of them in this sport !!

Thanks Laffie for your contributions on this board. We obviously need more people like you to limit the impact of the trolls.

I raise my hat to many of you whom have shown some form of respect even if it'd be much easier to simply laugh at the result and Bute's fans, over and over...

Life goes on. Lots more great fights to see and enjoy ! :thumbsup

I've got a tonne of respect for Bute, and some of his fans are amongst the posters I like and respect most on ESB.
But I have to be honest,in boxing terms he brought absolutely zero to that fight and looked horribly out of his depth.
I feel bad for guys who are some of the most loyal boxing fans in the game.

I agree, he looked out of it from half way into the 2nd round...

In any sport, more than 50% of positive results are gained psychologically prior to the event. Froch to me, is the greatest example of a guy that has achieved most of what he's done on his inner strength. Very few guys in this sport can compare to him in that department. In his case, it just so happens that his inner strength is expressed through a little arrogance. Thing is, he believes his **** and simply backs it up as much as anyone I've seen in the last 15 years, except obviously guys like Mayweather.

On a side note, I can't remember the last time Frochy had such an accurate and straight right hand. I know he practiced throwing shorter rights down the middle throughout camp.

It's the best I've seen from him. Straighter rights with more accuracy and a bit more speed than usual. I was impressed.

I remember getting into a debate with drozzy about Ward/Bute. Laffie chimed in and has always seemed to be a level headed fan. Didn't expect any less from him in defeat of his fighter. All class.

So what you are saying is me and rummy ranking Bute #4 based on his level of opposition, and Carl Froch #2 was actually a fair assessment? ;)

All kidding aside, I'm sure it was a tough blow for you Bute fans and I'm not going to rub any more salt in those wounds but telling you I told you so....but props for coming out and admitting your past short comings with Bute....sometimes people just get caught up in the hype and they can't see things clearly......but at least you see the error in your ways and I'm sure it's not the last we have see of Mr Bute.

That's gettin a bit lost amongst the Anglo-Canadian mutual blowjob society tonight.

Bute contributed nothing to that fight. It was a prime glass era Judah like performance.
