Following on from a little debate with Boxing Girl: Ward #1 Froch #2 Kessler #3 #4 - Bute or Steiglitz? :think Where and why?
Really? Abraham's SMW record is atrocious. Dirrell hasn't fought anyone above C level for two years. Andrade KO'd Steiglitz too
Depends on how you do the rankings. Talent wise I'd go: Ward, Dirrell, Kessler, Froch. Dirrell is a bit of a wild card in terms of his layoff though. He was moved too quickly into the tourney but very well against Froch, many thinking he deserved the win. If he comes back with his head on straight he is a top dog. Ring wise: Ward, Kessler (he did beat Froch, I know I just watched it again moments ago)Froch, Dirrell by virute of his split decision loss to Froch in Froch's back yard.
Kessler at 175 now. He may move back down to 168 for a Froch or Ward fight, but he is at 175 so you can't rank him at 168. I got it Ward Froch Dirrell Stegilitz
Kessler is at 175 now...you can bump him out of there. Not saying IF he was at 168 he wouldn't deserve a top 3..but he is at 175 so take him out.:good
Difficult at the moment. If Kessler is staying at LHW or not is unknown as of yet. Ward is no. 1 of course and I feel Froch has to be number 2. I'll leave out Kessler for the moment. Dirrell may be talented, but he has been too inactive of late to be ranked highly. Bute deserves to drop a few places after that performance. But the division is starting to look real thin. I'll go with: 1: Ward 2: Froch 3: Stieglitz 4: Abraham (I know, but I do think he deserves to be above guys like Groves and Johnson) 5: Bute. But frankly, all the places below 1-2 are completely open and up for grabs. Anybody who gets a good win could leap as high as 3.
He has done nothing in the division and as of now is a complete non factor. AA is even above him right now, and Pavlik will be soon.
Not saying that at all bro.:good I'm just saying that he has made it known that his division is now 175 pounds.:good
Kessler will fight at 168 again. No doubt. He has no trouble with the weight, his promoter was told to look for fights at 160! Even without him, you can't ignore that Dirrell's record is the weakest of the guys mentioned. A good 'win-by-default' against Abraham (perhaps that's a little harsh), which is a better single win than most of Steiglitz/Bute's wins, but beyond that he has done nothing. The Abraham win was over two years ago too! I like to base rankings on relevant, recentish, in-the-ring achievements.
