A peak of 668,000 watched Froch vs Bute after midnight. Record figures for Sky boxing. Smashing what Brook vs Hatton set a few weeks ago

Great stuff but I hope this doesn't push Sky towards PPV.

Put on good competitive fights and there will always be an audience. Understandably people resent getting fed **** and being told it's sugar.

That's bloody good for effectively a post-midnight show!

Kessler II in Nottingham/Manchester could finally get him to the level he deserves.

What has the tabloid coverage been like for him at home? All over the back pages?

Yeah, it's all down to Matchroom. Our saviour Eddie is really growing the sport, reducing investment from Sky, monopolizing all the dates, what a guy!

Hard to argue with the figures though franky

Froch Bute was an easy sell, but they did a tremendous marketing job for Brook Hatton in fairness (hatton name and all but still).

With the poor efforts Hatton and Maloney have given us in the last 18 months, its hard to blame sky / matchroom

The last 2 big events they've put on have been magnificent to watch and really build up the excitement for a fight. Even Brook-Hatton for god's sake, which in truth was a bit of a mismatch, had some people going away thinking Kell could compete with Mayweather!

Regarding Hearn, he's doing a good job at the moment but I can't help thinking Matchroom effectively running Sky's boxing coverage single handedly could prove a wrong decision. Don't think they should've got rid of Hatton Promotions. Anyway, let's hope Hearn's over enthusiastic celebrations don't put any more of his fighters in danger of being DQ'd.

Can you at least give a "wee" bit of credit to Eddie for drawing Bute over to the UK?:yep
