Bute press conference, fight afterthoughts

Froch may very well have Bute's #......but Im of the opinion that at the level of intensity Froch was fighting at Saturday, that not even prime BHOP or James Toney wouldve made the final bell. Froch was a man possessed. The look in his eyes was like a young Tyson.

When the ref broke them midway through the 1st, Lucian gave him an friendly smile and extended his glove in peace. Froch slowly put out his glove with a glare that would cut through wrought iron.

Bute is good friends with his past foes. He and Johnson are very close, even after the beatdown Bute put on him. I'm afraid Carl does not make friends in the ring. Ward was rolling with it. He's the best defensive fighter(besides Dirrel who runs like a girl being chased by a bug). Yeah Froch caught him, but Ward rolled with it and took it off the gloves most the time.

Ward is KTFO just like Bute if he comes to Nottingham. And Froch has dropped several guys with his L hook. It's a sly shot that most aint expecting, but he fires it almost squared up damned near turning it over into a straight L.

And Froch's left is ****. Watch the fight, watch his Kessler fight. No one fears Frochs left.

What a nice honest person Bute appears to be.
Hopefully he can bounce back and do well.
I still think Bute/Ward is a 50/50 fight due to Ward not having massive power and styles making fights.

 

Nope. Froch was actually FASTER than Bute. Ward is WAY faster than Frcoh. This is where the translation actually works.

Ward humiliates Bute for about 8-10 rounds before Butes corner stops it.

All about styles making fights. Lets not forget that before Bute/Froch most predicted Bute.
Now I dont think Ward is that much faster, if at all, but has a style that looks effective.
Remember Ward didnt want to fight Bute.
I think its 50/50. Ward likes to hit and hold and stay close, but I think Butes body shot comes into play in that fight

 

So Ward is not that much faster????


Froch disagrees with you....

Ward didn't fight Bute for the exact reason Froch destroyed him. He hadn't fought anyone, and wasn't ready for a legit title shot. Froch proved that.

And everyone that really follows boxing and knows what the **** they are talking about picked Froch.

Ward has been fighting at home and that makes a massive difference.
Show me where you wrote that Bute was going to be destroyed by Froch before the fight

I was there and rate both Froch and Bute and I dont think Froch would be denied that night, but look at the history of the SMW division and how American and Canadian based SMWs cant win big fights away in Europe ie and tell me home advantage doesnt help ie Bute, Dirrell, Lacy, Taylor, Sheika, G Johnson, Andrade, Manfredo, Pascal, Holmes, McClellan are just a small example of a far bigger list. All have been top 10 rated but couldnt compete when away in Europe

 

Bit misleading really when you consider Dawsons best win is over a fighter 18 years older and considered shot when Calzaghe beat him years previously. Dawsons other 2 big wins were over exposed fighters 14/15 years older in Johnson and Tarver and Johnson who is a journeyman had Dawson looking out on his feet at one point.
Dawson lost to Pascal also, so all a bit misleading
