Froch dropped him but that was a while ago, and well, sparring is sparring isn't it.

Echos of Froch calling out Calzaghe here. It won't happen anytime soon. Booth surely wouldn't allow it.

One thing missing from Froch's recent record is a massive, domestic world title fight. I think he'll fight one of Degale, Groves or Cleverly (catchweight maybe?) before he goes.

I'd hardly say Groves is domestic level when he's beaten everyone who's anyone inthe UK including the current European champion.

On a further note, everyone saying Froch would demolish Groves, I wonder what you would have said about this before the Bute fight? Everyone had written Froch off before this weekend. That said I think Froch would with a dust up with groves but it'd be closer than everyone on here thinks.

Bute gets his tactics wrong and off of a sudden Froch is the second coming.

If Froch fights anyone with a dodgy chin he's going to be favourite. If Froch fights anyone who hasn't mixed with the elite he's going to be the favourite.

Kenny Anderson hurt Groves, even Paul Smith tagged him. Groves would even have to overcome the fact that Froch has already 'Big Daddied' him in sparring.

I didn't think it would be particularly close pre-Bute even less so post-Bute.

Groves-Steiglitz was viewed as 50/50 at best for GG. I think Froch would break Steiglitz's heart as Berrio and Librade have done.

Like others have said, shades of Froch calling out Calzaghe here. Hopefully Groves can go on to be of a similar mentality to Carl and take on the best available fighters.

I would rob a bank and put the entire proceeds on Froch in the 1st 6. Froch wouldnt get out of bed for this type of opponent

Groves needs to take care of Anderson then he can move on. Obviously Froch has more experience but Groves clearly has something about him. He can fight on the inside and outside. He may have as good or slightly better technical ability than Froch. He certainly won't fight like Bute did.

In 8 months he's gone from saying that he knows he isn't at world level yet and won't be ready for another 18 months -2 years to calling out everyone

I would of still of said froch would of took him out in 4 i just don't think groves is tough enough or has the skills yet to deal with the pressure/toughness of froch. He's a hard nights work for anyone let alone someone with 14 fights and never mixed it on world level before.

You mean the bit where he thought that stopping Frochs punches with his face was the way forward....He didn't get his tactics wrong, he got steamrollered.

He melted under the inevitable early pressure.

    He was abysmal.

Froch and McCracken got it spot on.

Groves is even more untested than Bute, the lad has potential and he might full fill it, providing he keeps away from Froch for the time being.

Too soon for groves, needs at least 3 more fights.

Let's see how he handles Anderson first...
