and it is a huge sham when when Lalonde is the WBC 175 pound champ, and Leonard wants his belt but at a catch weight of .... 168 pounds..you know, the super middleweight limit...(SHOCKER) and lalonde weighed in at 167....

I don't really like theese records anymore since it's alot more easy to get a belt in a division nowdays compared to before.

I mean Sugar ray robinsson didn't he go up 4 divisions when the division whern't split like they are today? Manny is great, but not as great as their promotional company wants him to be.

yeah that's one of the few times in history where I really do believe the drainage/ every factor in your favor played a HUGE role. Nonsense title, and everybody knows there is a difference between making a guy who has fought at 175 for years come down to 168 late in his career versus making a guy who weighed in at 146 come in at 145 in his next fight. One is a fair catch weight, the other is complete nonsense.

I don't think we will see a guy starting at the super low weight classes again with the power to keep welterweights off when he gets to that weight - that IS special and unique about Pac.

 

I dont think it will ever happen again, since steroid testing is more prevalent now.
