in the US we dont have this desire to see an 'american champion'

some of the more popular fighters here are not americans and many people here still identify with whatever country their family originated from, there are a bunch of small pockets where certain fighters have a strong following based on their nationality

the one time u would see the kind of home town favoritism u see in most other countries would be at real small events in tiny ass southern towns where certain guys are like local celebrities, the majority of the robberies in the US are based on who ur promoter is/how much influence they have or if ur like a huge draw in nevada ur probably not gonna lose a decision to some total bum

    ur totally missing something

if a british/american/whatever fighter was to fight julio chavez jr iin mexico there would be literally no way for him to win a decision withoout at the verry least scoring a bunch of KDs

the same cant be said about a fight in vegas

    Great post.

The same CAN be said in the u.s., where robberies always happen.

    no its NOT the same

in the us its based on things like what promoter has influence over certain people

in mexico its based on the fact that a mexican is fighting a non mexican

So are we all agreed that a US fighter's record is a bit tainted if they never EVER fight in the backyards of their opponents?

Good, glad we cleared that up.

    Thanks for your time.

A lot of people suggesting mexican or mexican Americans are only on west coast or south! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
New York, Chicago, Boston, have HUGE Mexican populations. Its just that there are also huge numbers of Italian Americans/ Puerto Ricans and Greeks /
Irish / Other Latino countries there too.

I guarantee you that Canelo and JccJr would sell out in the East Coast too.

I'd be interested in seeing them headline a card on the east coast. . I don't know why TR, or GB, have not experimented with that yet. . . We know they sell well in the southwest, and the west coast, but lets see how they sell on the east coast! You are right - lots of Mexican-Americans in the Northeast; not quite as many per capita, but still a decent amount.
