Man this is depressing. First time I heard the news I was with him in hoping that he can still recover. But this recent news must be devastating for him. I hope he won't go on a depression state and make a mess of his life.
CNN is covering the story. He's paralyzed from the waist down and they do not expect he will ever walk again. Paul Williams was trying to avoid an erratic car swerving and was thrown sixty-read again-sixty feet from his motorcycle from 75 mph. Praying for him. He told his friend who was giving the release, that if he never boxes again, he might do stand-up-comedy, so it's clear he's got his wits and is optimistic. A favorite of mine. Really sad news. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/05/2...n-motorcycle-accident-manager-says/?hpt=hp_t2
I ****ing hate it for him. I hope he somehow recovers and is able to walk again. **** boxing, just be able to walk again...
Stand up comedy? I gotta admit that made me laugh. Poor guy, my heart goes out to him and his loved ones...
Damn, this is still such a shock to me. Really upset for Paul. Even though I feel Williams/Lara was a huge robbery, Paul has always been willing to fight the best and given us some incredible fights over the years. I wish him the best recovery possible.
Very sad, but I'm glad he didn't die and is in good spirits. There should be something in these contracts that forbids them from riding motocycles and engaging in other activities that can have high risk of injuries.
What a tragic weekend first Tapia, then Williams. Now check this out... IBF #1 122lbs boxer Thantong Kiattaweesuk was tragically killed Saturday in a car accident in Bangkok, Thailand. Thantong’s wife and twin nephews were also killed in the car accident.
Man this is really sad its like it was just yesterday me and the boys watching him fight. He had some hell of a fights always fun.
Peterson said: "Paul is in denial right now. It's been that way with him. You tell him he can't or won't do something, and he wants to prove you different. "So whatever the doctors say, he's not listening. But they say that walking and boxing is not going to happen." I just shed a tear. For some reason this really hit home. Williams never got that big break, a stylistic nightmare at 147lbs and on the verge of finally receiving his due credit by beating hypejob canelo. **** guys. This is a rough year for boxing.
