Cotto should step in to fight Canelo

Not sure GBP wants to put him in there w/ Cotto just yet.

agree williams was arguably a tougher fight than cotto.

would love this. they are 2 of my favourite boxers, so i'd find it hard deciding who to root for.

Canelo's manager says Alvarez will likely face James Kirkland or Austin Trout in September. He also added that Cotto is not an option for September, but is an option for November/December.

Or do you mean that he might just scrap the september date, and fight in october/november, so he could make the fight with Cotto?


Either way, I like Trout, and Kirkalnd for September too. . Preferably Kirkland. . Canelo's gotta get revenge for Mexico after Kirkland did Angulo raw dog no **** style.

Should be enough time for Cotto to recover, and he'd still be in shape, so he wouldn't have to worry about "getting in shape", but could just focus on technical, and strategic preparations. . . Rest for June, and first two weeks of July, then start training camp around July 15th.

He ate some clean shots against Floyd, but didn't take a lot of punishment really. . .

 

Would be a great fight, but like some others have mentioned, GBP may not want to put Canelo in with Cotto just yet. I really would like to see Canelo handle Kirkland now that Williams is out.

 

Kirkland is coming off an injury.... he is shot already... he looked like a post Calzaghe Jeff Lacy in his last fight, no snap on his punches because his arms are permenantly injured.

 

Cotto is shot. I am sure that Canelo would do a better job than Floyd did.
