This is not all about Floyd, it's about GBP's relationship with USADA. Earlier this week:

    http://www.badlefthook.com/2012/5/2...-samples-taken-destroyed-showtime-boxing-news

It seemed strange at the time, with such a small window before the fight to get the testing in, but Winky requested the testing, ostensibly due to recent failed tests by Lamont Peterson and Andre Berto under the VADA banner, and Quillin agreed. I said then that I applauded the request by Wright, and the willingness to oblige by Quillin. In my view, this level of testing, whether done by USADA or VADA or Prada, is nothing but good for the sport of boxing. This should be done at the higher levels of boxing, period. Every fight, every commission, every promoter.

Now, however, there's confusion in the Wright camp after USADA took samples from both fighters, but two days after taking blood and urine from Quillin and a day after the same from Wright, USADA contacted Wright's lawyer and said they would not be doing the testing after all, according to MaxBoxing.com's Gabriel Montoya.

Wright says that he requested the already submitted samples be tested, understanding that if it was too close to the fight, then that's just how it is. But USADA then informed Wright's lawyer that the samples had been destroyed.

Yeah, what was interesting about that case is that he failed for "stimulants" which can be found in cold remedies as well as nutritional products and that was the "bye."

He was exempt. Yet, many years later, and maybe because the protocols were stricter, I remember
Andreea Răducan was stripped of her medal when she failed for the one of the same, Pseudoephedrine. :-( But different times; different countries. Things change.

You call me naive, yet you show me an article that the USOC shoved the positive tests under the rug. The testers did their job and tested the athletes, and it was the COMMITTEE who was bought off, not the testing agency. :patsch

It's completely reasonable to assume that Golden Boy has some kind of deal in place. Think about it, they're a business. If Floyd/Ortiz/Mosley/Cotto by some small chance fails the test, the fight gets cancelled and Golden Boy lose millions.

It's a benefit to Golden Boy that nobody gets caught. We all saw how much money was lost with the cancellation of Berto/Ortiz and Khan/Peterson. Golden Boy can't afford to to have any of those guys testing or else they lose out on tons of money, especially Mayweather or any Mayweather opponent.

Having a provision in the contract would make total sense, even if it's not a benefit to boxing, it's HUGE benefit to their wallets. Don't be quick to doubt that there is a provision in place.

Have you read that above article that Lester Proctor's just posted?

GBP's other fighter, Kid Chocolate, was supposed to be doing random testing for the Winky fight. But all of a sudden, after collecting the samples from the fighters, USADA threw away the samples and said they won't be doing random testing anymore.

Well clearly USADA didn't forward their results to WADA, but had them vetted by whoever contracted them out, in this case USOC. Draw your own parallels. At a minimum they were complicit, or you think they weren't aware of these cheaters being allowed to compete in the Olympics?

So idiots like you can say they took the test without thinking with your head.

Golden Boy & Mayweather is the last place I expect to see integrity. One guy is a jail-bound woman beater with anger issues and the other is fishnet wearing, coke snorting, wife cheating *****.

Integrity my ass. They reek of bs at every turn.

Is that an excuse to throw away the samples?
