I know Ray Leonard and Hearns suggested extra testing in the 80s. Didn't Tyson and Holyfield in the 90s as well?

To digress from the topic, that's the first time I've seen that shot from that angle.

Joe had absolutely everything on that patented leaping left hook, and it landed perfectly flush on Ali's jaw.

Kennedy's head didn't snap back like that from Oswald's shot.

And Ali was up at four !

    Granite chin.

    Correction- Floyd Sr. Started it.

And if Floyd's countersuit has to do with something along the lines of he himself not saying anything before the time the suit was filed, I'm inclined to believe he has a solid chance at winning. Floyd Jr didn't open his mouth till the talks fully blew up

Its more likely a motion to get the case dismissed more than an actual countersuit. Pacquiao has done nothing with his lawsuit, he hasn't presented one piece of evidence to prove the allegations are false nor that Mayweather made them with malicious intent, nor has he provided proof that said actions have caused him harm. All 3 of which are needed to win a defamation suit.

No, he could counter-sue for libel. You're right about the other two options, especially seeing as neither would call for him to open his medical records to discovery, which is what he/his team may want.

I'm just not following why Mayweather would be able to sue for defamation. What did Pacquiao do that was defamatory?

Manny accused Floyd of implicating him as a steroid cheat when he has produced no evidence that supports his claim. Counter-suits from what I understand are pretty common but they usually come rapidly after the initial suit is filed. Mayweather has been charged with something he personally did not say.

This has been so slow due to scheduling and basically Floyd snubbing his nose at the case and not even showing up to court dates.

I don't think Mayweather can sue for defamation for that unless it's something that Pacquiao said outside of the lawsuit. Parties in a suit are usually shielded from defamation by something called absolute privilege. That's why malicious prosecution is usually the alternative.

If Mayweather really is counter suing for defamation then I don't think we know the whole story. An idea that did occur to me, however, is that if Mayweather thinks that Pacquiao or Arum (or whoever) told this Montoya guy that Floyd failed a test then that might be what all of this is about.

Manny accused him of making defamatory comments. That's the basis of his counter-suit....his own words in many, many interviews show Mayweather did say things which could be taken as defamatory, this action is very stupid. It will be thrown out quicker than Cotto's fat friend on a sinking canoe
