Okay, let's count Mayweather's Cotto - Pac and Margarito's leftover - Bloody nose. Cotto ran for his life vs Pac. Ortiz - Maidana's leftover - needed a SUCKER PUNCH to win. How embarrassing that was. Mosley - Cotto's leftover - Almost died on the 2nd round. Pac KD Mosley, run the whole time out of fear for Pac. Marquez - Pac's leftover - If you only started watching boxing in 2009, it's understandable. (BTW, Pac fought and beat JMM at his BEST weight) - Floyd CHEATED the scales. If 1 lb on Cotto matters, are we going to ignore 2 lbs? Hatton - Bloated and Fat - 95% of his fights were @ 140. ODLH - Mosley and Hopkin's leftover - Devastating SD!!! That was EASY. :rofl BTW, Pac is fighting a NOONE's leftover come June 9.
LOL for a start thats the RIGHT side of his face!!! Mayweather fought a 154lb non weight drained version of Cotto of course his punches are going to cause more damage remember Floyd also came up from the smaller divisions. Pacs win over Cotto was also a top performance but it is dented due to the catchweight.
Pac is fighting nobody's left over next weekend due to the fact that Bradley has never fought anybody in his entire career!! the most PR Bradley ever received is from when he ducked Khan (Peterson and Prescott's leftovers!!!)
I would have loved to see Cotto vs Pac II at 154lbs Diaz in his corner....other than Pac natural gifts it would have been a tactical afair. That being said the Cotto vs Floyd fight proves absolutely nothing...two totally different fighters, different styles, strengths and execution. The TS is merely looking to get a rush out of this absolutely idiotic statement.
Cotto and Pacq fight nothing alike, how many times does this have to be saidatsch? Also Floyd fought Cotto coming off one of his best performances at a weight he's comfortable at. Aren't we also forgetting that Floyd toyed with JMM while Pacquiao got humiliated by him Nov. '11 and he needed a "catchweight" to even beat Cotto in the first place?atsch TBF JMM was more comfortable against Pacquiao and knew how to handle his style though like I said with Cotto and Pacq, styles make fights. There's a reason Pacquiao didn't want the rematch against a comfortable Cotto but he still deserves credit for that win just not as much as Floyd.
From the "punch thrower's" perspective, yes. From the recipient of the punch, you should defend from it the same. Especially if they are of nearly the same speed and range, since the only advantage of the jab is it gets to your face quicker. Arum is trolling for sure, but there is some truth to his statement.
Your definition of what happened in the Cotto vs Pac fight is incorrect...Cotto thought he could walk in and overpower Pac and fell right into Pac's trap. The first two rounds showed you (or those who actually understand the sport) who was the better overall boxer but when you try and force your will against a figher who's fast twicth and reckless abandon trumps yours the ending result is what manifested for the rest of the fight.
