Better "technical" boxer is the proper term. Because obviously, the better "overall" boxer won that night. It's like saying Nowitzki is not a good shooter because his form is far from the "proper" way of shooting a basketball.
Telegraphed? Sure. But let's go ask someone who've been in the ring with him for 36 rounds: This content is protected Nope, still not that easy to overcome if it comes to you at mind boggling speed and awkward angle and timing. With a pop to it to boot. :good :good :good Pac has one of the best lead lefts in the sport right now, surely you know that.
Actually no, I'll agree to disagree with you here. We can surely add in "technical" but I actually feel Cotto is the better "overall" boxer and the better overall boxer was reduced to practically surviving because he was busy playing the role of trainer and boxer against a fighter who's ability to connect with punches from unorthodox angles created true hesitancy, indecisivness and insecurity. Cotto was beaten by a healthier, well prepared, better trained physically dynamic fighter that night. Oh and Dirk is an excellent shooter...his form is quite proper when compared to say Reggie Miller who was also a godly shooter.
Ive posted about this topic before. I agree Floyd does fear pac. He himself admits that he fears for his health. Yes we could use cottos left jabs as a reason to say pac would beat FMJ, however I would rather use the first 6 rounds of the Judah fight. Judah was clearly on top in the early rounds, he is also a southpaw and he had similiar speed to pac, dosent use his angles as much as pac and obviously we know pac dosent gas out after 6 rounds like Judah did. The bottom line is I honestly dont think FMJ's shoulder roll defence is as good with leftys and he will get caught alot more.
Dirk's form is trash I tell you. (Thought I wouldn't mention Reggie since I don't know your age but right on the money there). However, that high release adds more to it (difficult to block), and he somehow made it consistent enough to overcome the improper form. Same way I see Pac, he got tons of weaknesses turned strength simply because coupled with his athleticism, opponents don't see it coming. Which is why JMM is phenomenal against Pac and ok with lesser fighters with better form. JMM is the Pac-killer. He mastered Pac's angles and awkward style. But sure, we can agree to disagree here.:good
You mean like this? This content is protected Come on, Pacquiao was missing his straight left for the majority of the bout. That's the main reason he never had Marquez hurt. One gif certainly doesn't make your case. But hey, I could show you more gifs of Manny missing.
Straight left does not ALWAYS equal a lead straight left thrown as a counter to the jab. Surely, you know that. I was the first to laugh at the hilarious jab-jab-straight combo of Pac during Pac-JMM 3. And I'm nowhere near "glorifying" that. But Pac's right hook counter and lead left counter were the most successful of the garbage barrage of punches that he thew during that night. Just in case you miss it, I was making a case that Pac's lead left is as dangerous, if not more, than Cotto's jab. P.S. Here, allow Ali to educate you about the difference of a LEAD straight. JMM is mr. pacmans ultimate nemisis....always will be in my opinion because for some strange reason I feel pac lacks the freaking brain power to add in some simple adjustments in his game as evidenced in his first fight with JMM. Roach is a solid trainer but there's no mystery behind his teachings and the fact that his most successful student is blessed with a unique set of attributes. What I find more amazing is his inability to find success with a phenom like Jorge Linares! Give Jorge to someone like say Sheilds or Goose and you might have an ATG on your hands.....his durability might be achillies heel I hated Reggie Miller but I respected his G-ness. Dirks form is consistant thus the reason why he's an incredible shooter....its all about repeating what works, repetition is key :smoke
Excuse me while I puke again at Pac's inability to adjust during mid-fight. There, done.:rofl Kidding aside, JMM SHOULD be respected tons by Pac's fans. He is already 38 but still kicking Pac's ass. :bbb Respect for Reggie.:good
First of all Judah and Pac fight nothing alike. Zab is more of a natural counter-puncher with a jab who had the ability to beat PBF to the punch. Pac doesn't have a jab and is not a natural counter puncher and he can't beat PBF to the punch. Horrible and flawed comparison.:deal
