Are there parallels between the Bute vs Froch fight & Haye vs Chisora

Bute went into the fight with the widely recognized superior skill set, speed and ability but had not fought very many top level fighters in his division.

Froch has the heart of the lion and takes on all comers, but was seen as slow and predictable.

Froch of course wiped the floor with Bute as we know.

Haye is seen as the more skilled, faster fighter but at HEAVYWEIGHT bar losing to Wladimir in a one sided points defeat he has fought b/ c list fighters.

Chisora is slower and more predictable but has had 3 successive wars against Top 10 ranked heavyweights Fury, Helenius & Vitali.

Could we see Haye's Cruiserweight stature exposed here quite badly when Chisora walks through his best shots?

Para 1: Haye has fought THE top fighter in his division and has better 1st/2nd - 5th best wins at HW.
Para 2: Chisora is extremely unpredictable.
Para 4: There are only 2 A list fighters at HW, Haye fought one of them.
Para 5: Froch hadn't had three successive wars. A boxing 'war' is generally two sided. Vitali dominated him.
Para 6: No.

 

I'd like to think Chisora could do to Haye what Froch did to Bute but I can't see it happening.

Chisora is a Euro level fighter at best while Haye is world class although still a million miles behind the Klitschko's.


I see Haye taking a cautious low risk approach and out-boxing Chisora to a 12 round decision in a dull boring fight.

 

You could also add that Froch going into the Bute fight was seen as feather fisted like Chisora.

 

I have never seen or read anything like this.

 

And I don't really think that wars against Fury and Helenius can really be compared to the level at which Froch has been operating!

I think on levels, most people would say Haye is World Class, Klitschko's are elite level, and Chisora is Euro/Fringe world class. He fought a decent fight against Vitali, but he didn't go life and death with him, despite Vitali being old and possibly one-armed.

I think Chisora CAN beat Haye, but it would have to be Chisora's best performance and he'd have to show something new. He's shown the potential to improve, but IMO there isn't an argument that Chisora is currently better than Haye on record/on recent performance.

 

Froch's pretty much been fighting guys the same size as him. It's a bit harsh to discredit Chisora for losing against 2 undefeated 6ft 6 + giants, and a dominant 6ft 8 champion like Vitali who would have beaten Haye anyway. In retrospect Chisora has a harder job, because of his physical disadvantages against larger opposition. He's still done pretty well though, and he hasn't been put down like Carl has by Taylor. And out against muscled against Ward who pushed him back into the ropes like he was nothing.

 

Durability means **** all when you are being virtually swept on the cards, and even less so when your stand out win is against an utterly shot to **** Danny Williams. All Chisoras durability will ensure is that he eventually turns into a lumbering punchbag for up and comers and then journeymen to bang into (no homo). Any comparison with Froch is frankly laughable.
