All I'm seeing is "these guys beat Vitali so tyson would too". There is just too much in Vitalis favor in this fight for it to be close. Most of the ******s in this thread live in TKO6ville and genuinely believe Vitali is a mediocre fighter. There is no hope for logic in threads of this nature, not to mention it was started by a troll.

1988 Tyson is arguably the best at using head movement to avoid jabs and staights since Frazier ( maybe even better ). Vitali has had the much longer (effective) career but then that tends to be the case with very short fighters and very tall fighters.

Anytime other than their respective peaks Vitali proably would take it. Tyson fell from his best pretty quickly

But true peak for peak Tyson has to be favourite against a guy who fights with his hands low and like to pull his head back. Tyson of the 90s and 2000 Vitali wins Tyson of 88-89 : Tyson wins.

Its a small window but in that window he's deadly.

 

Fight can either go 2 ways!

A) Tyson has his early moments but Vitali weathers the storm. Vitali then applies more pressure and forces Tyson to fight backing up which will eventually see him get knocked out late, or force the fight to a UD for Vitali.

B) Tyson dominates early and continues to apply pressure throughout the whole fight. I don't think he knocks out a prime Vitali (I don't think any HW in history can bar cuts). However he wins enough rounds to take this to a UD win.

I would go for a Tyson decision.

A rearing hungry Tyson would be hard to knockout. Also as we all know it will take a bulldozer to knock out an out of prime Vitali let alone a prime one.

no version of mike tyson beats a prime version klit...as much as i enjoyed tyson for what he was...he is and always will be the most overated champion..that is the only fact about mike tyson..

 

Prime Tyson was something else but the reality was he could only sustain that amazing bobbing and weaving for 3 to 4 rounds before he became stationairy and tired.
And there is just no way for me to envision a prime Vitali who at the time was quite a bit quicker and a lot more powerful than the current version would get KOd within that timeframe.

After that Vitali would pick him apart.

Obviously prime Tyson is a demi god on this forum and the GOAT and outside of maybe a Ali noone is supposed to have chance against him.

Reality is though that stylisticly and when it comes to physical dimensions its hard to envision a worse matchup for him than a prime Vitali.

Tyson is greater but h2h Vitali wins.

Vitali also uses that sweeping left hook that Foreman used to great effectiveness vs Frazier which would see him with success against Tysons headmovement.
