What do you mean by the higher seed? Higher ranked? If that is the case then he certainly wasn't higher rankings than kessler or froch.

America is where the money is and has been for years and yes the gap is closing. I am not sure this applies to ward though, seeing that he doesn't have a big following and is not necessarily even the biggest draw in the SM division.

Sure, I'd love to see the best fight the best who wouldnt....I noticed you still havent answered all my inquiries.

What am I to do with you? :think for some strange reason I feel a strong obligation towards steering you right.

Look like you are confusing me for someone who is defending every decision behind my fighter not wanting to commit to fighting away from home when in reality you are that person. :patsch

Not much of what you say above relates to the thread topic and most of what you say is contradictory to the facts. Dirrell lost a close decision whilst fighting very negatively and you have the audacity to call me butt hurt:lol: When clearly you are the one with a chip on your shoulder getting all defensive just because your boy failed to agree to the same terms as all the other S6 fighters and continues to do nothing other than talk about who he doesn't want to fight.. As said before this is all what is wrong with boxing.

You also seem to like to try and put words into my posts:

Tell me where I have gone and condoned another fighter getting screwed? Doesn't matter where it is if a decision is wrong i will accept and Froch dirrell wasn't one of these. It was close so get over it. America is no better when it comes down to a bit of home cooking but that is perfectly ok it seems:nut

As for now you have showed you will defend to the hilt your fighter and his stance not to travel and will get horribly abusive when other suggest that he is pampered. :good

The qualifying round was 3 fights. Ward was the highest seed based on those results. Because he beat Kessler and Green and won via forfeit vs Dirrell(ended up fighting Bika, but it was not a S6 fight).

So realistically, as the qualifying round was mapped out, the only fight where Ward could/would/should have traveled outside the US was vs Kessler. Maybe it should have been in Denmark, but I don't really know what the domino effect would have been.

There's a distinct difference in opinion floating around here and its quite apparent.....your views on hometown advantage outweigh that of most, while I agree some fighters perform better on a familiar stage others thrive in similar situations. Case in point, though Ricky fought Collazo on his "hometurf" it was clear the powers that be where using Collazo to showcase Ricky to Amercian audiences...it backfired, yet on his own "hometurf" even after practically controling the pace of the fight from the second round on and nearly KO'ing Ricky in the 12th Hatton was given the decision.

I agreed earlier in the thread that hatton was gifted that decision:good

I can't see how you think i think the hometown advantage matters more than most people do when i have gone on record stating that ward would most probably still win. I am not concerned with this aspect as much as I am interested in seeing an even playing field that would eliminate this kind of discussion.

 at least they would be both well away from home pampering..

I still think it would be positive for boxing if maybe more fighters were prepared to fight both a home and away fight. If this is not an option then I would suggest as neutral venue as possible.

There's way to much political and monetary influence involved and fighting on neutral ground would have a negative impact on revenue flow. There are concession to be made in boxing and being a pro boxer you have to live with it.

If they did fight in southern africa I wonder which advantage would leave a bigger impression on the outcome of the fight...Wards summoning of the old African warrior spirits or Frochs ability to use his god given Brit ability to dupe and lure the native folk into fits of self destruction and acts of genocide against your own kind.

Even more reason to show he has the balls to fight away. At the end of the day. It was unfair Ward always being at home in the super 6. Bute was criticised for always fighting at home. He stepped up and showed he had the courage to fight away. Time will tell if Ward shows the same balls.

Ward may well be better, but he hasnt proved himself fighting away, and that is the point.
Oh it wasnt just England that I mentioned, it was Europe which should tell you how home advantage does assist a fighter.
Froch didnt get the worst beating ever. He was being hit more by J Taylor before the finish and 2 115-113 cards coesnt sound that bad, especially when Froch is a faded 34 year old.
Froch exposed Ward, as Froch is slow and has a low workrate, yet had Ward tired and was winning late on.

Now once again what American based SMW has won a big SMW fight in Europe, because out of 28 fighters (not fights), there wasnt one winner which shows how well home advantage works,

Well lets look at Wards S6 journey compared to Frochs

Ward gets Kessler at home / Froch gets Dirrell at home

Ward gets a soft replacement in A Green / Froch gets Kessler in Denmark

Ward has Dirrell pull out and gets awarded 2 points / Froch has to fight Abraham a a neutral site

Ward gets Abraham at home / Froch gets Johnson away

Ward gets the fight in his home nation and Froch has to travel again

Ward had Abraham with a 1-2 in his last 3 fights going in.
Ward didnt fight one undefeated fighter in the S6
