Welcome to ESB, The *****s here state that movie tickets are not counted as PPV, and we know thats not the truth they do count as a PPV purchase other wise you would have a different count for movie tickets.
There is no link no source, its not disclosed how they count those movie tickets what we do know is they do not release movie ticket info just PPV #s that means the tickets count as a PPV purchase
So the question then becomes if someone is paying 15 or 20 bux and it counts as 1 PPV purchase, that doesnt mean that Floyd is generating more PPV revenue, that simply means GBP and Mayweather found a way for cheap so called fans to go watch the fight and all while makin their numbers look better than what they are

 

Didn't Mayweather VS Cotto generate $ 94 million which is the highest since the Mayweather vs De La Hoya fight.

Non heavyweight fight that is.

Exactly there is a reason its not disclosed, thats because it is disclosed, as PPV purchases.

You have to think about this with some sense, lets say PPV numbers do x amount of units for example Floyds last fight with Cotto.

wouldnt you as a promoter also want to throw out your Movie Ticket Numbers as well? so you can show what the fight did all the way around from Tickets to the fight itself, to PPV purchases at home, all the way to the movie theaters there is a reason they do not release them like that, and that reason is each Movie ticket counts as a PPV purchase

 

How much does this affect the 'apparent' PPV number though. Aren't the movie theater sales in the low thousands at best?

Theater is closed circuits in number I'm pretty sure. How could one movie ticket equal a PPV buy, especially with such a high revenue? That makes no sense.

If movie ticket purchases were purchased as often as you are suggesting, and inflating the numbers as often as you are suggesting, then the revenue would be MUCH higher.

 

They dont release the Movie tickets they are counted as PPV purchases, I am not sure how much they affect the PPV numbers but look at it this way if you get a movie ticket between 15-20 bux thats less than half sitting at home watching the fight.

At absolute best. There was only one movie theater showing it in the hollywood region and it was all the way up at god damn universal studios.

 

We will never really know, there is a reason why GBP has never released those numbers separately.

 

Anywho, what's the word on Pac's official numbers from Marg, Mosley and Marquez from HBO? I've made a thread on it before just being curious but you seem in the know about this.
