Of course. The older they are, the better they are remembered.

    You forgot:

Ray Arcel who saw them all until his death rated Locche as the best ahead of Pep IIRC (contrary to some people's impressions that he always picked the older guy).

    I like Locche personally.

Crazy that Pep has more wins himself (229) than the number of fights Locche, Floyd, and Sweet Pea had combined (225). He also only had 3 more losses than the three of them put together.

Wilfred Benitez deserves to be remembered among the best defensive masters of all time

It seems that you don't read or don't know much about boxing. Nobody has been better than Mayweather at defense period. Cumpubox has measure whitaker leonard, benitez and Floyd is better than all of them. Facts are facts period

This is usually my stance. Whitaker did seem to get hit more, but then again he threw more than Floyd, which left him more vulnerable.

    Compubox is a joke.

pretty much :good if you wanna make the point as noted above (will007) that floyd is technically superior, that's an argument. but trying to base it on resumes, against two guys who **** on floyd's resume, will end real quick

Because Mayweather was prime material fighting at his most comfortable weight division against Cotto.

    ---

On topic, Whitaker had the best defense.

you gotta give it to pep.

not cause hes older, but because he was top notch for 241 fights, hes simply the most proven IMO.

Pep because nobody including Benitez, Whitaker, Mayweather, or Locche could win a round w/o throwing a punch*
