The problem is that there is no one else to fight at the moment and Canelo has had his warm-up to say the least with Shane so if you have a better proposal, write it to GBP. ODLH clearly stated that he is not ready for the likes of Floyd and I believe he's 100% right. Let the kid grow. And let kirkland prove himself, at least for one night, if he fails, Kirkland career is not over by any means.

And the Cubans start with the excuses. Only Lara their god can be legit.

What other 21 year olds are getting in the ring with a prime monster like Kirkland?

Nope, JK was the first choice but they turned it down because of the shoulder.

I mean it was bad enough that he had surgery to repair it...I'm not a doctor but that seems pretty serious. I had a partially torn rotator cuff that didn't require surgery and I'm still not 100% and that was 10 months ago. Granted I dot have the resources or physical prowess of Kirkland, but this will be an issue and I hate it that James was put in this position. Im glad he's gettin paid and all but still hate that this fight could be tarnished.

If he had surgery less than 45 days ago he shouldn't sparr for another couple of months.Like serious sparring. There was a reason why they turned the fight down the first time. And I'm saying that Canelo beats a healthy JK anyways...

There are actually a lot of solid opponents that Alvarez could face on that date-Lara, Molina, Trout-Rodriguez winner, Rosado(if he beats Powell), Martiroysan, or even someone like Quintana.

The problem is that GBP is wanting to make this fight a ppv and that leaves only few names they can pick from. Williams will never fight again and Cotto doesn't want the fight at the moment so that means Kirklnans is going to rush back from his shoulder injury to take this fight.

I'm sure HBO would televise any of the names listed above, they love Alvarez and GBP has been talking about some recognizable names for the undercard slot so they could put this on regular HBO but are insisting on making it ppv.

    this.

he's never been good.. even with a 200% shoulder... not a good fighter.. just a brawler on the streets that has a pretty heavy hand.

any good boxer has and should beat him.... and his chin sucks.

"September 15th, it's on. [James] is ready. He wants to go to training camp tomorrow. He's ready to go. I asked him 'what about the shoulder' and he said 'I'll cut my arm off and beat that boy with my cut off arm if I have to - make the fight.' That's how excited he is about it. He is ready to go,"

Doesn't sound like someone who's 100% sure on their shoulder.. Sounds like someone who saw a payday they couldn't pass up and is hoping for the best.

No doubt he has heart...and I respect his fighting spirit, but this isn't a wise decision IMO. I'm not sure he'd beat him anyway, but all this does is diminish an otherwise solid win for Canelo, if he in fact wins.

People rate Kirkland??? I think Mosley at this stage is still a far harder fight than Kirkland. Kirkland will get knocked out no doubt about it.

I don't believe his shoulder is fully healed. I don't believe Canelo is to blame, but some blame will be thrown his way. Just hoping for a good fight nonetheless.

Not Mexican you little Cuban diva.

I can see right through your agenda with this thread. You're just ****ing hating because your irrelevant Lara is constantly left out in the corner, where no one cares about him. The same corner with the rest of your Cuban boxers.

You're starting this thread to make it known after Canelo wins, that according to you there should be an asterisk, why? Because you're jealous of Canelo and wish Lara had what he had.

Dumb buster ass, send Abril my regards.
