Pirog is not hard to hit but he has very good power himself and Golovkin's defense sucks. Pirog's punches flow naturally like water whereas Golovkin is much more robotic and needs to plant his feet before he can let his hands go. I can see Pirog outworking and outboxing Golovkin until he gets stopped in the late rounds and I can see Pirog confusing Golovkin with his awkward rhythm and not letting Golovkin get set and winning a decision. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I'll rewatch it when i get a minute, i may be being harsh on Pirog but i had been getting fustrated with the lack of urgency on his part. I cannot really argue with your opinion of the fight, its a genuine 50/50 fight which is rare and i can understand arguements supporting both sides. Im just glad Golovkin is finally getting his chance to shine.

What gives you the impression that Golovkins defence is poor?

The Ouma fight? The other guys he's faced were too terrified to throw

Pirog by UD. GGG gonna give up too many early rounds and find himself in a hole. Pirog is clearly the better boxer with faster hands.... I'm suprised at all the people picking power over speed/technique here. Pirog has shown a good chin. He will outhustle GGG early and outbox him when GGG knows he needs the KO and starts swinging for the fences.

    Golovkin by late stoppage.
But from what I read Pirog's belt may not be on the line , so he will remain WBO world champion

Any chance Pirog tries to spoil like Abril did with Rios? That would be a pretty good gameplan against a guy like Golo. Not the most exciting but very effective

Golovkin had 300 or so amature fights and was never knocked down let alone TKOd he has a great chin and pirog has little chance of knocking him out,.!!!!

You obviously don't know these fighters, Golovkin is the better boxer in this match up, Pirog has a punchers chance and that's it. It's about timing and technique, Golovkin has the advantages in this contest.

His fight against Kassim Ouma exposed his defensive flaws. :
