James Kirkland injured his shoulder while training this a.m. and has pulled out of his Sept. 15 fight vs. Canelo Alvarez at MGM in Vegas.

Kirkland's manager Cameron Dunkin confirmed the news. "He's absolutely sick about it." Kirkland was scheduled to make around $3 million.

Hopefully but Molina is a much harder sell for PPV imo. Is it too late to get Cotto?

not only is molina a much harder sell, he brings a style that isn't very pleasing to watch, especially for pay per view audiences. It may be too late for cotto, not to mention cotto doesn't seem like the kind of guy to be a late replacement. I dont see them offering lara the fight, and is it me or, does martirosyan always talk about big fights but never seems to be involved in them? alfredo angulo maybe?

This is not a surprise. Kirkland orginally turned down the fight because he was told his shoulder wouldn't be ready until October. After what happened to Williams, they simply offered him more money than he could turn down. This is a blessing in disguise.

Angulo steps in. It would sell and it would be a great fight.

GBP needs to forget about PPV for this fight. They've had a string of bad luck in terms of big fights getting cancelled.

that's what I was thinking. if the fight's in the u.s though, I don't know if it comes off, considering angulo's citizenship/visa issues.
