remember the prefight talk gavin was saying about curtis woodhouse. claiming he wouldn't last 5 rounds, and woodhouse goes onto hold his own against him and give him the toughest fight of his career. he's not lived up to his hype. in my eyes hes nothing but a bum.I dont care if i'm being disrespectful hes a disappointment and some what of a failure couldn't make weight for bejing and for a week before the fight talked about how easy it would be to make weight and also said that there was room for cake and ice cream. And thus far has pissed around in the pro ranks

I don't think it's just his mothers illness, there's also rumored stuff about a child that wasn't his. The lad's had a lot to deal with and depression may at some point been a factor in his life. Thankfully unlike other he's not taken his life.

Depression in sport has emerged over recent years as a problem. I think Gavin knew deep down his life/career wasn't right and that's why it all came to a head that day when he told Tibbs he's not fighting Horta i think he was in a rut from his diet to his displays the lad knew he wasn't performing well and knew his life wasn't settled i think Curtis kinda woke him up and humbled him that night. I've noticed when asking him questions and in general on here he seems a lot more happier then he was a while back.

He knows he's made mistakes, but he's looking to make his mark this year. Good luck to him. He's got time on his side but he's now got to take that leap up in class to develop at that level which may actually help him. He will only have himself to blame if he doesn't perform when moved up in class.
