Cool, cool, but then even if he does get what he demands if he loses there will be excuses he wasnt 100%. Better he wait till after October, but maybe James feels he won't get this chance again. September is right before October, but he would have to get ready for training camp in a few weeks. If he really is injured then at least for now its a lost cause.

Kirkland has nothing to lose. A few fights ago he was knocked out in a single round against a Japanese journeyman and in the space of four fights, he's earned himself a huge payday. If he loses against Canelo, so what? It won't be more damaging than the loss to Ishida was, so he can always rebuild. If he wins, he becomes a major star.

When good opportunities arise, it's better to take it, especially when the risk/reward is as good as it is for Kirkland right now.

The average top boxer makes probably about 750K-1mil per fight. Only a select few make 2mil+

kirkland should be rematching molina....or just give the fight to molina. he's been robbed plenty of times and deserves the well earned break.

i hate when this happens cause they're pretty much admitting it's for the money only....if he was really confident how he was when he fought perro, he wouldn't care about the extra cash, and he would see this as a huge opportunity.....i mean, it aint like it's a 100 percent guaranteed that canelo is gonna **** him up....****, canelo was down on the cards vs gomez for ****s sake.......

Who the **** does James think he is? He got out classed by Molina, lost to that Japanese guy, he hasnt done anything to earn that type of money he is not a draw Canelo is.
