With the amount of dirty rabbit punches he lands in every fight (and with total impunity), someone would have suffered brain damage already.

I'd like to hear the opinion of a chinchecker on this

Has Bute dethroned Kirkland as the glass jaw king after the Froch debacle

or is Mandingo still considered the #1 chinna chinned chump in boxing today?

 

I've been compiling the Official Rankings from all of the Chincheckers today and Kirkland is still #1 on 6 of 7 lists I've received thus far, mine included. Bute is definitely a threat to reach #1, however, his Chin is awful.

 

Yeah, it makes sense. Being KOed by Froch is hardly comparable to being KOed by a featherfisted japanese journeyman, Bute hasn't visited the canvas so far either. I'd say Kirkland's glass crown is secure for now

 

Exactly, Kirkland will forever be a runaway favorite for Glass Jaw King based solely on the Ishida fight because it was truly one of the most appalling displays of Mandibular Fortitude I have ever witnessed.

 

His head definitely busted Kessler up.

When you have accomplished what he has he can get a pass for not having that many KO's !

 

Bute needs to beat a top fighter to fight the number 1. Froch, Dirrell, Kessler all deserve a fight with him. Ward told Bute to beat a top fighter as he had not done so seeing as he didn't participate in the Super Six. A perfectly reasonable request. As things turned out, the first A-level fighter Bute fought, he got absolutely destroyed. Bute needs to go back to the drawing board, if he wins a rematch, Ward should fight him.
