Why was Greb ranked as no.1 so late?

His over the top, condescending style isn't the way to rally supporters for Greb's undeniable Greatness. It's a turn off. Clay Moyle has ten times the class and respect. Buy the Langford book. :good

 

Had it for awhile now, buddy...it is an excellent read and well researched! For the record, Greb is top five ATG without a doubt. IMO

 

I really think that Greb footage would look a lot more like the best of Calzaghe than anyone else.

 

I never heard him say that and if he did I can't say what he was basing it on. So I'll refrain from comment.

But what he says about the Greb-Tunney series is backed by PRIMARY SOURCES and cannot be taken with a grain of salt. The guy has done complete and thorough research on Greb.

Actually there is no footage of Robinson in his prime - i.e. at welterweight.

Well, Armstrong certainly gets his respect & he doesn`t fight like SRR or Pep.

 

There is a little footage of him at WW actually, there is also footage of him in the FW & LW golden gloves when he was a teenager & there is more than enough MW footage were Robinson was still prime aka not long after he moved up from WW to MW.

The Jake Lamotta performance alone when WW champion Robinson first won the MW title in 1951 in their 6th & last fight shows you just how good a prime Robinson was... we might not have caught the very best peak performances of SRR at WW vs Gavilan & co on video but there is more than enough footage to prove what people say about him & that is that Sugar Ray Robinson was the best fighter ever.
