At the same time, he did call out Jones after Roy beat Ruiz. I'm not sure we can say that Tarver knew that Roy would not only struggle to take off the weight but it would have devastating effects on his body's equilibrium. He wanted Roy no matter what. As for the overall timing...Tarver had his own life problems he had to overcome. Its good that he overcame them though but he shouldn't have had them in the first place. But still good to see he better today. It just messed up the possibility of a true prime vs. prime fight. Roy was already on the slide in his 30's from an athletic stand-point. But nothing can compare to killing the body's health. But he does get annoying with how great he thinks that win was despite the circumstances...especially since he had his own troubles against Hopkins because of his own dealings with weight loss...but that was only because he was poisoned
Tarver would have have fought and beat Tyson easily...had he been able to get Mike down to LH. Tarver's a legend in his own mind. ___
I agree with you... even without dropping weight to fight Tarver, there is only so long it would have lasted at HWY. Roy's sudden decline had many different contributing factors Imo.. Style like you said was a huge one... I don't think he always had such a horrible chin, but I think he would have been knocked out had he fought even a few more fights at HWY. Once he was knocked out, I think a lot of it was a mental thing, along with the declining legs, reflexes ect... In the 3rd Tarver fight, that was a horrible Tarver that showed up, about 60% of the one that fought Roy in the first 2... That fight was Roy's for the taking had he pulled the trigger or had the confidence to try and finish Tarver. And I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of The Chair!:happy
Did you bet your house on Roy in that fight? U mad? U mad he got KTFO? Why you so butthurt about Tarver tapping that ass?
I'm no Roy nuthugger. You're clearly a Tarver nuthugger though. Just pointing that he's a ****ing joke and his 'best' win was a matter of circumstances, and a faded, faded opponent. Can you handle that, Nancy?
LOL. Child please. I am not a Tarver ANYTHING. I like him, yeah, but I like Roy also. I'm not a little ***** like you, refusing to give Tarver, a massive underdog going into both fights, the credit he deserves.
I don't believe he 'deserves' much credit at all. Prime for Prime, Roy destroys him every time. What did Tarver do since that victory? Beaten by Johnson (Yes, I know Tarver beat him next time out), taken apart by Hopkins and Chad Dawson, twice. I believe the high regard some people hold him in is completely unwarranted, and that's my opinion. Now, get off my nuts. :hi:
