Vusi Malinga's only previous world title fight, he got starched in 1 round by the excellent Hozumi Hasegawa.

Ever seen LSC? The kid has looked legit so far, albeit against mostly limited competition. Nice KO win over Jose Lopez.

Santa Cruz was a great left hook to the body!

    Round 1

Santa Cruz hooks out of his high guard, going to body and head. Malinga pushes out his right jab from outside, and tries to find a spot for his roaming left uppercut. Santa Cruz keeps tossing straight shots into Mulinga's guard and then hooking the body. Circling at close range, both throwing fairly often. Close round.

    10-9 Santa Cruz

    Round 1

Santa Curz, landing hard right hands to the body of Malinga. Left hands to the body from Santa Cruz. Cruz keeping distance with his jab and landing nice looping rights around the guard of Malinga. Malinga throwing out the jab but not being able to really get his offense going. Hard left hands to the body of Malinga. Curz outjabbing Malinga and keeping him out of position. Malinga lands a nice two punch combo at the end but not enough to win the round

    10 - 9 Santa Cruz.

With Malinga's age, those body shots will slowly cut him dry. This won't last long.

Well, he needs to step up. Everyone knows of his troubles, but he needs to step up. He's been fighting bums since he lost to Martinez.
