Andy Hug's first K1 fight 1993 and an early night for the champ against Ryuji Murakami >>> [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zao3uOc1heU[/ame]
Love this one. Some of the KOs are simply spectacular >>> [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agNZQxW3GZA[/ame]
Great clip Spider. Some quality KOs he really had some nukes in his fists.:scaredas: Really interesting fotage after the halfway point as well. I'd never seen alot of that stuff about his funeral. Good post.:good
How it all started. Andy vs Shokei Matsui. I think this was back in 1992 >>> [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hz1vlheJTk[/ame]
Interesting clip.:good I've never really had much respect for the true fighting potential of the pyjama brigade and the full contact application of the classical martial arts. However, it's an interesting clip becuase you can kind of of see the starts of Andi growing out of the rigid face on attacks of traditonal Karate and developing into a slightly more natural fluid attack. You can see him turning the hip and rotating his ankles to gain power and momentum, in a way unnatural to a traditonal Karate guy.
Apologies for the setup Boran :good But I do think what you say is true. It is already evident from the clip that Andy is evolving away from traditional, rigid karate movements and demonstrating more fluidity. What a waste it would have been if Andy had stuck with karate and we'd never gotten to see him on the bigger stage.
