I've been salivating over the idea of Santa Cruz stepping up to the top at BW/SBW for years now. It's all happening so fast, all of a sudden. I still can't wrap my head around the fact he's a champion now.

He definitely beats Darchinyan, maybe Yamanaka. Not Donaire. Agbeko 50-50.

Mares has made it clear he isn't interested.

He could maybe stop Stieglitz, who's too willing to trade (which I expect to be his undoing against Abraham in a couple of months). Loses wide decisions to both Tommy Gun and La Bamba. He can't hurt either of them IMO, and his awkwardness will only be enough to make them look bad...not to earn him a substantive amount of rounds.

Interesting question. He really wanted a HW title a while back, and he'd probably be willing to settle for some bull**** like the IBO since he seems very proud of his IBO cruiserweight title.

On the other hand, making a few more IBO 200lb defenses or unifying with a "real" belt would probably be safer than chasing the money at HW. :think

He's shown he has enough left to beat fringe world-level guys (Green) and top prospects (Kayode). I say he should unify that bull**** strap of his with something legitimate, and he might have a chance. I could see Tarver outpointing Lebedev.

Would it have killed Showtime to just show a full replay of the damn round and a half that Bogere vs. Leyva went? :-( There surely had to have been a seven minute window between some of the main card bouts they could have snuck it in.

He isn't beating or fighting no Klit GTFO. But they do like to fight blown up Crusiers so who knows. I got him beating Wlodarczyk ( Maybe Lebedev, not sure, Not Huck ) who he called out I think, Too slow of a workrate, and Tarver may take his bombs, great chin.

Stieglitz has some skills, He could outpoint him but yea I think Bika could rough him up, Stieglitz seems a tiny bit underrated by you, He has good boxing and I got him beating the SMW AA who almost lost to Wilk, Wilk isnt that good even though he gave Degale a tough one.

And yea I got him beating Agbeko, Darchinyan, Yamanaka, but not Mares.

Ah, no, you misunderstood. I didn't say he should go after the Klits (that's what he was talking about when he debuted at heavy..but yeah..he's nuts )

If he chooses heavyweight, get himself a bull**** title is what I was thinking. Like that WBF one that Holyfield had, or the HW version of the IBO title that he has at cruiser.

I'm a fan of Stieglitz and he can box nicely, but he is too fond of brawling and Bika would just rag-doll him IMO. In the Abraham match-up it should either be Stieglitz by UD or Abraham by KO, just depends on how brave/stupid he gets and how much aggression is shown by Abraham.

It's weird that Mares wasn't even remotely interested in considering him as a potential opponent. :think

    So, WHO NECKS For Kayode?

    Agreed.

He was only a prospect back then, Huge risk low reward so I understand, after this big win and world title win Mares-Santa Cruz is great.

I can't believe Winky didn't announce retirement... He did decent, gave him a tough fight and test but is too old to do anything good in boxing, He has nothing to prove.

For Quillin this is a big win, McEwan TKO and this will jump him into contendership.
