Not really, With all the rant post fight and his low workrate I can't say I am a fan.

Draw was fair, he bitched everyone out including showtime post fight like an idiot.

 

atsch:-( Wouldn't be shocked if he'd be the next exposed, Victor ****e and his steroids, This cheating and drama ruins a sport with so much heart and many great Warriors, People who endorse it such as paid off biased judges, bad refs, fighters who take " dives ", trainers who give fighters steroids and fighters who take them, and purposely dirty fighters are disgraces ruining the sport I love!

 

10th round belonged to Kayode hands down. He didnt do **** in the 11th n 12th. Also i had a hard time giving a round to Tarver between 1-6. Maybe 2 of those u could have went either way. Judges scores were on point.

 

Leo Santa Cruz is a fun fighter to watch. Phenomenal condition, like a wind-up doll, never stops throwing, right in your face the whole fight. Have to like him. Only mild concern is he does not seem to have a great deal of speed or power. But his non-stop punching with at least solid snappy blows will give a lot of top guys plenty of trouble. More importantly, he's fan friendly.

Honestly, I was concerned for Malinga's health afterwards. Taking that many shots that are hard enough to wear on the brain but not hard enough to knock you out remind me of some of those long protracted beating death fights like Gabe Ruelas - Jimmy Garcia, where the guy takes takes takes but fights back all the way through so they don't stop it.

Peter Quillin looked sharp in defeating Winky. Good speed and power, decent enough defense, good pacing. Wright looked pretty good for a guy who was 40 years old and had not fought in 3 years. I'd say he was not shot, but certainly not sharp from such a great deal of inactivity. Proved the old adage that excessive rest is to rust, and it cost him. A solid win for Quillin and good experience, but still has to be taken with a grain of salt given Wright's age and great inactivity.

Austin Trout knows how to win a decision, and probably can make just about anyone look bad, but that doesn't mean I want to watch him. He's one of those skilled and quick boxers who are effective at what they do, but few will want to go out of their way or be excited to watch him, unless they hate someone and want to see him make them struggle in a dull fight. BORING!

Tarver looked like an old fighter who can barely pull the trigger anymore, but still has enough veteran guile, generalship, pacing, and snap to take some young guys to school. The mind is still there, but the body is barely hanging on. Kayode has the strength, for sure, and even showed some footwork and defense, more than usual, and his usual winging bombs, and an awkward slightly muscle bound type style. Really, Kayode probably deserved to eek the fight on general activity, but I can also see a judge being turned off to all his goofy antics in the ring, liking Taver's clean sharp lands, and not being impressed by Kayode's punches that were misses and blocked or grazing and then taking long breaks and moving about like he was afraid to engage any further, or overly concerned about mixing it with a guy who looked on the cusp of being past it, if he was not there already. Plus Kayode made Tarver's punches look better than they were by staggering about so often. Taver seemed ready to be taken, but Kayode just needed to do a bit more to win convincingly. I don't have a big problem with the draw. Tarver either needs to train more, or, if this is all he has left, should seriously consider retirement. Kayode is somewhat of a goofball, but can probably make for some decent fights with some of the more elite young guys. Good experience for him. They need to cut his interviews short, because I could only understand about one word out of every five.

 

Cunningham is still just chinny. He looked like he had plenty in the tank against Hernandez. Tarver is looking close to done. Didn't look in shape at all.

 

Doubt it. Cunningham always gets back up.

 

It would definitely be enough but like every other time Steve will just get back up. But I doubt Tarver lands anything as good on Cunningham.

 

Damn, this is still going? Just goes to show you, quality of a fight doesn't determine RBR success.

 

He has to throw wide punches because Wright's guard, learn something...

 

I'd most like to see Tarver vs Wlodarczyk.....Tarver would win and pick up a legit cruiser strap.

 

Tarver looked rather old to me. His defense was porous. Hands up, loose guard at times which Kayode broke through by just following up initial punches. He seems a little centered, relies far too heavily on reflexes and doesn't seem to like moving his head. The CW division isn't that stiff, but I'd rather see him retire and stick to broadcasting.
