Michael Chiesa will face Al Iaquinta for the Ultimate Fighter series championship. My pick is Chiesa. Iaquinta has excellent power and not a bad ground game, but Chiesa again and again seems to find a way to win. Chiesa's stand-up is not that strong, but his punching power seems to increase when he's got someone on their back. Plus, he's a strong wrestler. I just think he'll find a way to win.
Chisea hasn't been dominant in any fight since the one to get on the house and he was down right lucky that Lawrence fought so stupidly. Iqueinta is a MUCH better fighter on the feet and unless Chisea can get the fight to the ground and keep it there then he's done. I still think Lawrence has the biggest upside of anyone on the show. I think he's the only guy who could beat Iquenta.
I think Iaquinta will take this, if it goes to ground then Chisea has a chance, IMO Chisea has been a bit fortunate in last few wins, seems a bit clumsy, I like him but I hate fighters with long hair, it just doesnt work!
I don't know what happened to Lawrence in the fight he lost. He didn't fight smart, but it seemed to be more than that. Someone on one thread mentioned the discontinued use of PEDs due to observing Lawrence's apparent acne breakouts, but I wouldn't want to be part of that kind of rumor. He just looked so phenomenal in the early fights. He knocked that Brazilian out cold with a stretched-out looping left hook. His power looked unreal. No doubt in my mind he KOs Iaquinta.
I think Chiesa will use his reach and straight left hand to keep Iaquinta at bay, then probably take Iaquinta to the ground and choke him out. Chiesa will also demonstrate that his mother is a MILF.
The kid is 21... My back looked that bad at 21. He's not using PEDs, at least that BS is not an evidence. He is most refined fighter out of all of them. With his experience he should have known to fight smarter. That kid will be a champ soon enough.
