Frazier was pretty ruthless against Ali.

Anyone ever seen that HBO documentary about their third fight told from his viewpoint?

The hate comes out pretty clearly & who can blame him.

He really wanted to hurt Ali & would have fought to the death if he had to.

“I’m just proud to let them see the stuff that they said,’’

“The damage I done to this man, both mind and body, let them see.’’

    From Frazier's cell phone:

“My name is Smokin’ Joe Frazier. Sharp as a razor. Yeah. Floating like a butterfly, stings like a bee. I’m the man that done the job. He knows, look and see. Call me. Bye, bye.’’

All of it can be found in the documentary.

you have to go back and read what the writers of the day were saying about Dempsey - paul gallico said going to see a dempsey fight was the closest you could get to an attempted murder without being arrested ,

Gene Tunney totally outboxed Dempsey ( apart from the battle of the long count 7th round ) over two 10 round title fights but later said it was the only time he ever felt like he was in the ring with someone who wanted to kill him .

They just dont breed men like Dempsey anymore - thankfully.

4 pages and no Stanley Ketchel mention....... most I can think of have been mentioned aside from him.

    some that haven't been mentioned.....

Hurricane Carter was a ruthless mofo.

    Saddler was a beast

    Margarito was hella ruthless.

Roger Mayweather was a pretty ruthless muther****er

Honorable mention to my man Johnny Tapia(RIP) who was a ruthless little beast

Dempsey gets my vote as the most ruthless ever.

    He dominated B-Hop.

B-Hop kept faking low blows through one punch and held.

Joe was to fast for him.

    Interesting.

I just finished watching every Dempsey fight on YouTube. He sure was a scrappy little guy (for a HW) and he was, at times, extremely aggressive, but not all the time. - and he didn't ever just go nuts in the ring, like Nigel Benn, Jackson, Duran, and a few others often did. He was always controlled & in charge of things. Very, very impressive, but not what I'd call "ruthless."

BTW, have you seen this version of the second Tunney fight?
