Kinda of hard for Ali asking for 60-40, since there was only ONE WORLD title at the time of the FOTC. Ali had no power to bargin for a higher purse in that one. He was lucky to get 50 50 imo. He is one of the few guys to fight for the title and break even with the champ.

Only Johnson Jeffries I belive was the only other fight to break even with the champ coming into FOTC. Of couse Liston Patterson both got 1 million or so. But I dont know who got more or less ete. And by clause, Walcott got paid more than defended champion Marciano.

But other than that, if you hold the title, you get the power in the deals at the table.

Fans eyes or not, Ali did retire, Frazier had a stronger claim in that regard.

Not that many PPV's back then.

Frazier was involved with Ali 3 times, Foreman 2 times, Quarry, and maybe Bob Foster. (I think the Ellis fight was on ABC)

Yeah, it's hard to compare splits that went down in the 60s and 70s in comparison to how it works today.

Manny PAC has shown great numbers in his PPV and so has Floyd but together they will go beyond any other fight that would be in there immediate future. This window of opportunity will be lost....If one of them loses millions will go down the drain. I think Floyd has worries about something...could it be Pac's speed and power...Floyd has his own gifts so I am not sure but the time is Now for them to make the most money and 50% of the largest purse ever makes complete sense

I doubt it, if he dosent take the fight he will still make mega bucks on his other fights.

If he is going to loose it all it will happen with or without the Pac fight.

It's Pac who brings in around half the Average Revenue per PPV.

It's Pac who's in the red, with tens of millions in debt to Arum from his gambling.
