i actually kind of saw this coming after the canelo fight. in his post fight interview he had no excuses why he lost except canelo is younger and stronger and these young guys are beating him up. if he admitted this himself he knows it's time to go. in the pac fight he said blisters and he tore something in his tendon. in the mora fight he claimed mora had a bad style. in the mayweather he claimed inactivity and punched himself out in the second round.

I'm glad. It's been a long and exciting ride Sugar. I'll remember your best days fondly.

Mosley put Taylor down hard in that 1st round. Mosley was a beast back then, Taylor only a couple years a go went 12 rounds with Artur Abraham at middleweight. I think at the time Mosley was 36-0 with 33KO.

Also Mosley destroying Adrian Stone at Welterweight was an impressive display of speed & power.

Ahhh RJJ again. Shane couldn't manage his career like RJJ because RJJ was better than Shane was. People are forgetting that people really didn't give Forrest much of a chance. This was a guy who struggled against Vernon Phillips, among others. Forrest was seen as a guy who had a big right hand, which did a lot of damage, but was easy to get out the way of. So going into this fight, no one expected Mosley to lose. It was supposed to be a dominating performance, a guy who was simply not on Mosleys level in the pros. But of course Forrest absolutely destroyed him and Shane, by result, some of his frailties were exposed. You think he has good head movement, but he doesnt move his head -- he often stands straight up to get hit in the face. etc. Mosley was being overrated on his victory over Oscar and Forrest was a lot closer to him than people wouldve guessed.

RJJ problem was that he was egotistical and always wanted the lion share of the money. The risk for fighting a rjj and not getting paid more than what was offered was not worth it, while people like Collins for whatever reason was sidestepped. This is the only one I dont understand.

Most fighters, not sure why you mentioned RJJ, ducked Winky Wright. Mosley fighting him was unnecessary, but he tried. And this is something that RJJ wouldnt have done, which wouldve been the equivalent of him fighting a really skilled heavy weight... hmmm lets say a Chris Byrd... but since Winky was the top guy at the division, it would be like RJJ fighting Lewis.

Are you telling me you think Roy dared to be great during his career in the same sense that Mosley did? That Roy actively sought out the toughest challenges?

I am not saying anything here about Roy's extraordinary talent level.

But I don't think he had that same drive to seek out the best that Mosley had.

That's my opinion of course, and you can feel free to disagree, but I think Roy could have done more to take on some tougher challenges at my points throughout his prime years.

i didn't even see miss jackson in court as floyd was heading to jail. must of went on a shopping spree in the venetian to get some more $11,000 shoes. mosley's gf is probably asking him what else are you going to do to pull the kind of income you do as a boxer.

Glad to see him hang them up, on his terms. It was becoming painful to watch his fights...knowing he was obviously well past it. But, he is a legend in the sport...and should undoubtedly see the HOF.
