In my books here's how I see it.

Froch: kessler, bute, pascal, johnson, taylor.

Calz: kessler, lacy, mitchell, reid, woodhall.

If you only look at what a fighter achieved in the smw division, I think joe takes it quite clearly. However I don't think that paints a true picture at all. For example pac beating bradley would be a huge victory despite tim being wholly unproven as a ww.

For me all things considered froch has a deeper top 5. His top two match joe's top two fairly well I think. The next 3 have all been the best in the world at some point in their career. Taylor was undisputed mw king after the rematch victory over b-hop (should have lost his titles to wright though). Going into this fight he was coming off 2 good performances against kelly and jeff.

Johnson had an amazing run up at lhw beating the likes of griffin, woods, jones, tarver and mack whilst putting in top performances against dawson and cloud. Coming into this fight he'd rose his stock considerably with a ko win over allen green.

Pascal was undefeated for this fight. He'd go on to beat diacanou and more importantly bad chad himself at lhw to become a superstar in his own right.

Strictly from an smw perspective joe takes it. All things considered carl's quality of victories is higher.

yes Froch needs to stay at this level for at least another 2-3 years to properly eclipse Zaghes entire resume.

Sadly time is not on his side in the way that it is for Andre.

but Froch is right that his 'title level' record is better any partial run of victories by Zaghes during any stage of his reign.

    So you are saying that:

Joey Maxims win over Ray Robinson is trash since Robinson has no wins at LHW.
Aaron Pryors wins over Alexis Arguello are ****. Arguello did **** all at LWW.
Evander Holyfields wins over Dwight Qawi is garbage because Qawis record at CW is garbage.

    Right?

    Lol.

Im saying it doesnt hold the same weight with all fighters.
So I ask you the question.

Do you think G Johnson was a top win for Froch, looking at Johnsons SMW resume and the fact he had about 15 losses and was about 0-5 in LHW title fights going in, then was boiled down to SMW. Good win for you?

Do you think J Taylor was a good win when he was 1-2 in his last 3 fights including a KO loss and was 1-1 in SMW fights then lost his next fight after to a fighter who claims he is too small ay SMW and is now back at MW because he couldnt compete at SMW. Good win for you?

Or what about Dirrell with his big win of V Oganov who had been KOd previously? Good win for you?

    Now lol

G Johnson has lost more than he has won at SMW and lost to a SMW Calzaghe beat.

You forget that Froch lost to Kessler coming off a loss and Pascal did nothing at SMW, or that Calzaghe has a win over Eubank.
The 5 fighters you note for Calzaghe who he beat were all SMW champs, whilst the 4 fighters you note for Froch who he beat only has one SMW champ with a lesser resume than Kessler, Lacy, Woodhall, Reid and Mitchell

So when is your measuring stick NOT appropriate? You seem to use it anywhere and anytime so forgive me for being a little confused.

I haven't rated those wins and don't intend to.

Ive tried to explain to him a number of times that you dont become a completely different fighter if you put on 7lbs but Bailey refuses to understand that.

So you count Kessler as a win for Froch

and conveniently forget Joe's win over Eubank :patsch

If this isn't an agenda, I don't know what is

Your facts are consistently misinterpreted. Whenever you try to break down a fight before hand you end up looking like a horse's ass.

The lbs obviously made a difference to Abraham for his comments and Taylor.

    Something else isnt it

Abraham started losing fights because he started facing a better class of opponents. The fact that he was getting outboxed and outworked should tell you that it was about skill, not power/size

No one in their right mind classes Froch's wins over Johnson and Taylor as anything special, so I don't understand why you keep bringing them up. Taylor going into the Froch fight was something like 1-2 in his last three fights. Johnson was in his forties coming of losses to Dawson and Cloud and was fighting at a weight he had not fought at for 5 years
