I can only stick to fights and fighters I have full knowledge of. The Hill/Maske fight was a good result. The other was a bit before my time and I dont have enough knowledge of the fighters you listed. Of course I know the names, but not enough first hand to say. So lets stick to fighters we both have full knowledge of. Still with Arguello, you note a fighter who hadnt fought at a weight above and got beat when he tried, compared to the 2 top men of the division of that time. Poor example of anything and not sure what you are trying to say there when compared to Taylor who was 1-2 in his last 3 fights, Abraham coming off a loss and Johnson who had lost around 5 other world title fights in a different weight division. You forget also in the caee of Johnson wasnt going up also, he was boiling down
I can't ****ing stand it when Popkins who's never boxed n knows **** all, makes it up as he goes along (as I proved) takes the **** out of Malinga. Malinga was a top fighter, beat Benn, Gave Eubank a hard fight, beat Reid yes, but like I said he was a top fighter.
You forgot Woodhall who had a very good SMW resume and in Boxing Monthlys British SMW article, had him above Reid
Popkins is just a **** who makes it up as he goes along. I don't take him seriously, let him disapear to the MMA forum.
:nut I've had countless arguments with Popkins over the years, but one thing I'll never accuse him of is lack of knowledge. As for the ''you've never boxed so you know nothing'' argument, **** right off. Stick to racism on the lounge pal.
When I say he makes it up as he goes a long I mean he lies, changes how he scored fights and reads articles then says he's seen fights. Please show me an example of racism as well you soft ****. atsch
Read the thread. Preferably sober - if you do that (assuming you can read) the examples will present themselves.
I have just had 2 months off the drink atsch ethnic minorities were agreeing with me. **** off you liberal puff and stop conforming to geralisation that white men who want a stop to immigration are racist. Your a ****ing idiot mate, so don't come out with this **** about me reading. How often do you pick up a book that isn't a toddlers novel.
In terms of overall resume, Calzaghe takes it.. Top 5 is close.. Calzaghe's win over Kessler is better than anything Carl has, Eubank was also a great win, he also holds solid wins over Lacy, Reid, Veit etc... Overall Calzaghe has Kessler who tops all Froch's wins, then the final 4 are close. So an edge to Mr.Calzaghe.. But what Froch has done in the last 4.5 years is truely amazing
Agree with this. By the way mate, what do you make of the upcoming Kessler vs Froch fight, who do you think takes it this time?
atsch Please explain to me how it is GREAT win, Eubank didnt beat good fighters 3 or 4 years before facing Joe, its ok win nothing more!!!
Ok I don't give a ****. **** off, think what you want about me you brain washed rat, just please do me afavour and don't talk to me again including your alts. :good
That's what we're doing, discussing resumes. What I stated was a fact. The point is that Taylor wasn't the same at SMW as he was at MW. Johnson wasn't the same at LHW as he was at SMW. Supporting the argument that fighters can be superior at different weights. How can ignore styles? When a fighter is completely past it and a shadow of himself atsch Did Lennox Lewis prove his style always beats Mike Tyson's? Trevor Berbick against Muhammed Ali? Hector Camacho v Sugar Ray Leonard? You know why I can ignore styles in these fights? Because the opponent was completely shot! A shadow of themselves. Yes I have seen Taylor-Hopkins, that was Taylor at his best. Your point is irrelevant, Hatton clearly felt more comfortable at JWW. Which proves that weight can make a difference in fighters. Pascal himself said he was killing himself to make SMW. All his achievements have come at LHW, and he's clearly not moving back down anytime soon. Jean Pascal is not the same fighter at SMW, which proves that in the examples Bailey has used, he has been correct.
