cotto was 28 right at his physical peak at his prime weight.

mayweather got credit but later not as much as then when it was confirmed that mosley is shot. also msoley was about 15 months inactive when floyd fought him. pac's win over cotto will be remembered more as cotto has done wonderful things after he lost to pac.

Cotto was not prime, make a poll I dare you.

Mayweather got re-recognized as the man at the weight, for beating the man who beat the man. He got a ton of credit for it, the same credit Pac would have gotten if he took the fight but he ran from it.

DEF. Pacquiao. . . Floyd was GROOMED for this ever since he came out the womb. . . He was handpicked as an amateur, signed, and groomed by Top Rank from day one. . .

He was "built up" the same way TR builds up all their prospects. . . Although ironically, he took on his toughest fights under Top Rank. . . You can argue Arum is somewhat of a "coward buster" (Floyd, Gamboa). . .

Pac came from nothing. . . Everything he has accomplished, and earned in life, HE DID IT HIMSELF. . . He was using a bike tire to hold his feet down for situps. . Hitting trash cans for heavy bags, surviving off a bowl of white rice a day while burning 3k calories training daily. . . Was thrown to the wolves when he was a lil ass kid. . .

let me put it this way for you to understand it. cotto was a much better opponent at the time than mosley. cotto has won his fights after his loss to pac. mosley lost more after floyd's win over him. in hindsight, we have known that mosley was shot at that time while cotto is still prime and went on his winning ways. if you still cannot get this in words i'll list it for you.

imagine pac fighting mosley instead of cotto:

mosley after the fight went on to fight...

    1. floyd and lost
    2. mora and got a draw
    3. canelo and lost

and compared to cotto who after losing to pac went on to fight....

    1. foreman and won
    2. mayorga and won
    3. margarito and won
    4. floyd and lost but gave floyd a tough fight

so which victory is better in hindsight?

also let us see a poll going back then in ESB where people voted which is the better victory. pac over cotto or floyd over mosley? here, i would put the link for you...

How can you say it was a much better fight "at the time", but then say "it looks good in hindsight" right after?

    Get a grip puga

you entirely missed the point. even if he was not, he was still close to his prime which i think happened around 2007-2009. we are comparing cotto here to mosley as a choice of opponent and a 28 years old cotto is by far a better opponent than a 38 years old mosley.

very simple... mosley was confirmed shot while cotto was still a good opponent.

now go on and place a higher value to your alphabet belt than the quality of opponent at the time.

Pacquiao waiting years to fight Mosley to "confirm he was shot" after ducking him in 2009 tells us all we need to know about how scared shitless Team Pac was of Shane.

so you're changing the topic now? i thought mosley was a better opponent at the time?

and you are clueless if you think pac has ducked mosley. has it dawned on you why pac was watching the cotto-clottey fight live at the MSG the same way floyd was watching berto-ortiz fight? silly oscarsexual...

Not changing the topic but Pac's actions in turning down the fight then accepting it years later just proves it further.

Mosley was the better opponent at the time. Fighting for the real belt against a top P4P'er is better than fighting for a diamond belt at a catchweight against a guy who just got KTFO by a guy that Mosley just KTFO.

    several things you missed:

    1. mosley offered to fight pacquiao at 140.
    2. if not 140, it woud be at 143.
    3. cotto ahd beaten mosley.
    4. mosley was shot at that time.

cotto is a better choice of opponent for his legacy and in hindsight. :deal

No, It would have been Pac's fifth lineal title fighting Shane. Much better for his legacy than fighting Cotto for the diamond catchweight belt.

i would say it again until you understand:

    1. mosley offered to fight at 140.
    2. shane mosley is not lineal at 147.
    3. if not 140, they would be fighting at 143.
    4. mosley is shot.
