He would beat Wlad Vitali Lewis Ali.

People just don't understand how much tougher boxers were back then! And no one can teach those old school fighting styles anymore! He wears them all down and stops them late.

We can debate these cross era match ups forever. There's a lot of nostalgia on here. Equally someone like Louis was so good he'd be competitive and would beat many great heavyweights in any era - including today's behemoths. Many people point to the size difference - that really never was an issue for Louis. He knocked out cold far bigger men than himself - Abe Simon - 255lb, Tony Galento 233lb, Buddy Baer - 227 lb, Primo Carnera - 260lb. I'm not suggesting that these guys are as good as the Klitschko's or Foreman, or Lewis - they aren't - but size wouldn't be an issue for Louis against a Klitschko or a Lewis - size combined with skill would be. Louis was a great technician though so who knows.

That's a new one. McCall did nothing of the sort, he landed a telegraphed punch with his eyes shut. The issue there is with LL's attention span rather than technical boxing ability.

This is why I pick him over current competition.

Louis was a technician at the Bernard Hopkins, JMM...or maybe above...level.

He also had power, speed, ring experience and confidence.

If it was as easy as just being bigger and stronger, it wouldn't be called The Sweet Science.

Did some idiot K fan say Louis was an unskilled bum or something? Louis was far and away more skilled and apt at technical boxing than either K brother. Probably more so than both of them combined. Say what you want about who wins, the size advantage, and all that other nonsense. What I just said it was one hundred percent true regardless of your feelings on a H2H matchup.

Wladimir is unskilled? Is that why he doesn't lose rounds for half a decade at a time? Is that why no one can shatter that "fragile glass jaw"?

He won Olympic Gold in 1996. Was it the worst "amateur HW era ever" too?

Jesus christ man, you realize you stupid you sound? :tired

Peak for Peak, Louis could never outbox Wlad, & that's my true feelings Pete.

Louis would seriously beat the **** out of Wlad and likely ruin his career and retire him in the process. His skill set coupled with his devastating power hasn't been seen before or since. If Joe Louis were around today he'd be the most famous athlete on earth as he was in his prime and boxing would be back on top of the sportsworld in popularity.

When did I say Wlad was unskilled you vaginas?

Louis is more skilled, unless you believe Wlad is superior P4P. If you do not understand that than I can't help you...

He would catch him Kal and chop him down. He would never outbox Wlad but he wouldn't need to. This says a lot more about their physical dimensions then their skills though. And surely Wlad is an incredibly out-fighter because of his skills as a boxer, and not just his physical dimensions. His skills and dimensions are limited in large part to what he does well. This may be purposeful or intentional, but the extent to which Wlad's limitations exist are detrimental to him as a fighter in my opinion. It hasn't and won't be exposed because Wlad is so great at what he does and because of the competition. But against other ATGS, particularly someone of Louis' style and caliber, I think it would be greatly exposed. That is why it's rather easy and uncontroversial for me to say that Louis is more varied & skilled than both brothers combined in my opinion. I know we both agree on Louis' ability H2H against many HWs, but the disagreement seems to lie in our view of his chances versus the SHWs, particularly the K brothers. We're probably still closer in our estimation of Louis H2H than most on classic, though.

  15. You sound like a hater

    LMfao.

Mccall was behind on ALL SCORECARDS. when he knocked Lewis down.

ROFL... EVERY SINGLE scorecard got Lewis winning the fight into the knock down. Which Lewis then got up from before getting robbed.

Lewis then dominated the rematch and made Mccall cry like the baby ****** deer moron ****** **** that he is.

Ray Mercer fought the best fight of his life, but I can tell a hater like you didn't even watch the fight

because from Round 6-7 on, Mercer was eating 5 punch combos from Lewis, Mercer got dominated in the later rounds and everybody at ringside had Lewis winning 7-3 or 6-4. It was only close because

people thought Mercer was gonna lose 9-1

when you expect to lose 9-1 and lose 7-3 or 6-4 it becomes a 'close fight'

Lewis will brutally **** ass **** Mercer if Mercer didn't duck the rematch.

Lennox Lewis will dominate any era and will make Joe Louis his little vagina.

Get out with your black and white bull****.

Joe Louis is another over hyped American HW that Lennox Lewis would have dominated.

Lennox Lewis is an huge Tiger
    Joe Louis is a lynx

    meow little lynx
