Since we're all obsessed with Greb here, I thought I'd share some articles I came across. Soon after defeating Tommy Gibbons, Harry Greb had some articles attributed to him appearing in The Pittsburgh Press. Pretty interesting to read something directly attributed to him in light of how much has been written about him since.

Glad you like it, Vic. I thought his baseball analogy in the

article was particularly interesting. No doubt because I used to be a pitcher. Throwing change-ups and controlling the pace of the game, that was what it was all about to me.

    Some interesting commets.

For one thing Greb talks about the way that he and other fighters are not a natural fit for any of the traditional weight classes.

He basicaly implies that the supermiddleweight division would have been ideal for him.

I play hockey and I'm the kind of guy who gets a lot of shots on net but scores at an awful percentage. A goalie said to me recently that he always knows where/when I'm going to shoot because I telegraph my shot. I've made some adjustments and have noticed some good improvements so far. These kinds of things are important in every team sport.

    Nice read ! Thanks !

Jeezus!!! Irrefutable proof footage of Greb sparring Dempsey currently exists, and was transferred to videotape! (Note the digital counter box in the bottom of the 16 frames, ranging from :28.25 to 3:18.14. That covers about three minutes of action, at least!) The cat's out of the bag now. Dempsey-Greb will inevitably wind up on youtube. Now, how long before we see Harry in competition with Walker, and in Tunney I?:think(Much ado about nothing perhaps, but hope resprings eternal yet again!)

T, thanks sooo much for this phenomenal contribution!:good:hail(Now though, you've done opened Pandora's Box, and we've GOTS ta see the motion footage now!)

While I share your enthusiasm, I wouldn't regard this as "irrefutable." Yes, that's Jack Dempsey sparring, I have no doubt about that. Who's the guy in the headgear though? Could be Greb, could be somebody else. We haven't viewed the film, and it seems that the fella who has it is reticent to share. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing Turner72. Now change your avatar before I lose my lunch :verysad:barf
