Did nerves get to Lucian Bute against Carl Froch?

Froch took a risk attacking the way he did. And Bute did´nt know what to do. I had expected him to move away from Froch. In stéad he stayed on the ropes with an idea of catching Froch with a countepunch !!
Froch took the right decision -( it would´ve been suicide against an opponent like Abraham).
I think Bute was prepared for a defencemiknded Froch - not an agressive monster!

Thanks. In that case he has exerience traveling to fight the best in the world. I would hope he used that for motivation and confidence.

Regardless, I think this was Froch's night. Bute didn't make any excuses, neither should the fans. Give Carl some credit and respect Bute for taking the fight.

I had a WTF moment when I saw that. How is a recording of crowd noise going to prepare you for the raw intensity of hostile home crowd? It isn't the "noise" that is the problem; it's more the buzz and intimidation of having thousands of people baying for your blood.

Taylor was giving Froch a butt whoopin and losing about every round before the Cobra caught him late. I will say Froch didn't have the same confidence and probably was at an all time low when he faced Ward. Kessler took away his aura of invincibility. But Froch, I really doubt it. He's one of the most confident fighters in the game.

I think Bute had over 200 fights and only a few losses(8-10) at Amateurs.

Seems a fair post. I was surprised at the training with a crowd noise and maybe that did show a weakness

Yeah I agree, I dont think Froch fought like Bute was expecting in his own mind

There was an article about Froch recently. I still have it. He and his trainer were let out in amongst an intimidating pro Taylor crowd that made them nervous, and Froch was loading up rather than boxing due to these nerves and getting caught easy.
Apparently Froch used to suffer with nerves

this threw a wrench into butes game. forced him to lean and head hunt.

There is a big difference in fighting at home and away.............only stay at home fighters don't acknowledge this................
