Is power and speed really genetics or is technique involved?

Ive learned, by listening to wise old Men, plus a Few Young ones :yep. Have not seenmuch written about it, its as though those who know want it kept a secret. Ive been fortunate, in that Ive met the right people at the right moment. Plus had long Friendships with people who would charge £400 for an appointment :yep

Genetics bull ****,,,one punch can end the fight ,,as long as the brain is sain and your body is balanced ,,then its all down to hard work ,wanting it more than anything ,& family/Friends support,,,,this is a good start to achieving your goal,,,,in boxing you learn the BASICs punching & footwork ,,once you have this you make your own style, once you throw the first punch weather its straight or form different angles gives you technique ,,all the best boxers have speed then power naturally follows the punch with the weight of your body,,the heavier you are the harder the punch ,,its mostly technique that will win the fight

George Foreman had No footwork No combinations ,,,is technique was to walk throw your punches & hit you with power punching to knock you out

The question was "Is power and speed really genetics or is technique involved?" not "Does having power mean you'll win a boxing match"?

And George's power was the most prime example of "God given" power. Look at him when he KO'd Moorer... He never lost it.

Hearns would be a better example of "developing" power through technique/training.

That's pretty special. What was the therapy if you don't mind me asking?
Myelin is just the sheath that covers axons helping them to transmit information faster, the problem with CP patients is that they don't have the inhibition of sensory neurones at 7-9 months of age like the rest of us so they have too many connections, causes too much co-activation of muscles. Just for anybody who doesn't know.
I could imagine that it would be possible with muscle re-education to an extent, but at 12 years of age to suddenly be able to walk sounds unlikely to me from what I know.

What do you mean by speed stability of the oral cavity? Sorry for asking the questions, I just don't understand what you're referring to.

feel would be to do with proprioception from the vestibular system and from muscles and joints throughout the body. Sensory input that helps you make minute adjustments to levels of muscle activation in response, providing balance and increased reaction times during dynamic movements without the input of the visual system.
Try it out while you're guarding someone in basketball, if you stand next to them and you try to react when you're watching them it's slower than if you're not looking at them but you have your hand resting on them and you react when they move. Feel is faster than vision, I imagine that's what Scrap would've been referring to. I don't understand the oral cavity stuff though.

Its the position of the Head [Oral Cavity] that makes Joints and Muscle work to there optimum. Its Posture, Balance, Clarity of movement.

Do you mean the vestibular system? That's not the vestibule of the mouth, it's the vestibule of the ear that's responsible for what you're talking about.

    Cerebral Palsy.

Scrap, do you work in the field of biomechanics? It sounds like you're extremely knowledgeable in that department.
