No, another overrated fighter just because he's black. He beat a shot, old fighter who's been on the couch for almost 4 years, and had to counter winky to do it too. This guy is NO threat to any top 5 middleweight. He's a B level guy at best.

Beating a 40 year old rusty, hadn't fought in three years Winky Wright doesn't mean I should start taking Quillen seriously. If Quillen stops being protected and fights Golovkin, Pirog, Geale, or takes out N'Jkam, then I will start taking him seriously. The division has some depth, too much depth for Martinez to be fighting guys like Macklin and Barker, and too much depth for Quillen to not have fought a real contender yet.
Yes ... He is a very smart fighter IMO. Aside form the age and ring rust, Winky really seemed to have no clue on what to do with The Kid. And the angle he landed the knockodown with was sweet! His speed is somewhat deceptive and he has decent movement.
Are you saying Lee could not beat Sturm , Macklin, Pirog and Murray? He has beaten the only person who beat him and McEwan was undefeated at the time also. Quillin and Lee are both under rated. They would both give Martinez as much trouble as Macklin did and I think both beat Sturm. Martinez is awesome and a lb for lb ranked boxer. Golokin has pop and is a top 10 boxer but who has he beat either? Who has Pirog beat - Danny Jacobs who also was undefeated and highly touted in US boxing circles. The truth is - all these guys are top 20 fighters but the fans try to impose their short sited opinions to reduce them on these forms.
dude has power and is young and athletic. now he beat an old good veteran and yes, now I take him seriously. he should face sturm or lee, before stepping up against martinez.
