jim watt is a ****ing abysmal commentator ... i hate when he does commentating for Sky ,and even worse when it's for a fight when there is a Scottish figther...i sometimes (not all the time) think he over eggs it as he dosent want to be accused of being biased... on another note.does anyone have any pics of his defence at Ibrox park ?
But it does affect the legacy he leaves as there always the fear that he will be remembered as a bad commentator rather then a great fighter. And besides he'll always be better the duke mckennsy
If he was a bad commentator I wonder if Sky would have employed him all these years? You think they don't do customer feedback? Two and a half people watching streams thinking he's **** doesn't actually mean he is ****. Usually gets criticised by people who think any American voice is more authoritative. Give me his bias for British fighters any day over the Yank's bias for any ****er that makes the most money. :dead
Was stood a few yards away from him at Junior Witter - Vivian Harris fight, he's smaller than you'd think, though you wouldn't have ****ed with him in his prime. Going 15 with AA is some achievement (never saw that fight - that's today's 'to-do'). Also, the sideswipe above re: people criticising his commentary, yep, that was me on a few occasions. Ouch.:good
Not everyone can do everything perfectly, it also bores me people moaning about his commentary, Watt does a good job, is immensely knowledgable about the sport and most importantly very passionate, sometimes his passion takes over which to me is brilliant, it all adds to the fight!
He's the best commentator on UK television, by a lot I think. On the other end of the spectrum - I would prefer silence to John Rawling.
Jim Watt was a good workman class champion. And I like him as a commentator, although sometimes pretty biased. But we gotta be honest here. Nowadays he would be called a paper champ who got exposed when he fought a real top class fighter. Not really HOF worthy.
Yes at boxing, and Im the same when I hear Bunce, although the mute button doesnt even enter my head, it's change channel immediately reaction.
