Who invented the shoulder roll and did anyone do it better than floyd??

    A lot of the Murderer's Row used variations of it, though Harold Johnson tended use the version associated with Floyd more than the Mongoose (who operated behind the cross-arm defense.)

    It's actually a natural reaction, It's not this ancient technique developed throughout the years, I;m guessing people just realized how something as simple as raising ur shoulder can be so effective and decided to emphazise on it. Just a simple trick, wouldn't call it a style though.

    Burley was a king at the shoulder roll and the best I've ever seen along with Money. Toney had a good should roll

    There is absolutely nothing natural about the shoulder roll defense. GTFOH...You ever see any street fights and a guy is about to get hit in the face with a haymaker and he raises his shoulder to block the punch?:patsch

    done alot of reading about the history of boxing and the first time i heard of the shoulder roll being used was in the 20's by leonard
